both of bulldogs love to wander here and there too in the night. not all nights but on they do on occasion..
I guess they get really warm and do that to cool down some..

and I thought Gus was a handful at 52 pounds on my lap..

but Clovis is my no. 1 cuddler. Every night she sleeps with her butt or her side right up by my shoulder. Boo usually lays by my knee, but she is a night roamer and spends a brief time on the bed when we first go to bed, then gets down to sleep in her bed on the floor next to my bed, then goes to the sofa in the family room, then stays there the rest of the night or comes back to her bed or my bed. Flynn is very much like Clovis, she likes to sleep close to my upper body.

I rarely sit on my sofa anymore because all three of them want to be on me while I'm there. Oddly enough, none of them want to get into my recliner. My first bulldog was the only bulldog I have had who loved to sleep on my recliner. Or, her recliner, I should say. But she loved to sleep on my lap. I drove to Atlanta several times. Each time, my first bulldog lay across my lap the entire trip, to and from.

as a pup...Bella was far more clingy and far more affectionate then Gus ever was. she aged and got more mature..she was alot more indpendent...
Gus on the other hand was very extroverted as a puppy and not insecure like Bella...but not he is totally a velcro bulldog. totally..
so mine kinda reversed as they got older..

although Bella is not that affectionate with everyone around her in the house here..she is really affectionate with the pugs. she was like that since the my one pug is a rescue...been like since they day he came a year and a half ago ..now..always affectionate with the pugs... Gus on the other hand ignores them..lol

gazes into your eyes with her head tilted back and I love kissing on her. The boys would rather you didn't kiss them, they always turn their heads away.

Norbert never like being kissed of hugged. He only snuggled at night to stay warm.

I just love her coming over and sunggling with me on the couch watching tv. She lays real close and puts her head in my lap, then I use her for an arm rest. I probably watch a lot more tv because of her snuggling. Infact I sit at least 30 - 45 minutes every morning drinking coffee and watching the Today show so I can snuggle with her. I hate to get up and get ready for work. She follows me to the bathroom and waits outside of the tub while I shower and usually stays in there until I'm done getting ready (hair and makeup). She's my shadow. I love her so much!

MacKenzie never snuggles with me but does with my hubby. Well he actually likes to lay over his legs. He kisses the hubby and rarely kisses me. He's turned out to be a real daddies boy.

Cleo is alot like Ester, very snuggley. She now snuggles with my sister, although Darle doesn't let her on the couch so she doesn't get to snuggle as much as she used to.

They all love to sit in my lap and Maizy loves to give kisses. Trace is probably the one is the most attached to me. He will get on the top of the couch behind me and put his legs on my shoulders and his on top of my head.

I noticed many posted how thier two are totally opposite. One very affectionate/cuddly whereas the other is more independent. My questions is, was this the case when they were younger/puppies as well? Like were you able to tell which one would be a Velcro dog or did they grow into this?

what else I did with max was get him out with me to build his self confidence more..
out for more walks..and to see people and such..
I am not sure about the obedience..he really does not need it ..he is great now...
I bet in a few more months you will see a big change in Rocky yet too

I think they are afraid to get to close and love us for fear that they will be sent away, so why get to close and fall in love with them they will just discard me anyway, If only they knew how much we want then and love them .

Try holding that on your lap! He thinks he's a Chi. He doesn't care if you dont' have room to hold him, he wiggles in and makes himself fit in your arms.

Roxy likes to cuddle on her terms, mostly at night in my bed to keep warm. Junior is a leaner, but he doesn't like to be hugged back. Teddy cuddles only at night in bed. Belle only likes her chin scratched. She doesn't like to cuddle or be held.

Bentley wants to sit on your lap, touch his lips to yours (no tongue or slobber), put his paws on each of your shoulders and gaze into your eyes. It's as cute as can be.

Laurette (who is the exec director of our rescue) that I think he is afraid to love me like he wants to. At night when I tuck him in, he kinda moans ONLY SOMETIMES like "oh this is soo wonderful" but he turns away from me.

We play every day which is helping but I wonder if he will ever trust me (yes, he was abused) enough to get close

Christmas and New Years....Jim is doing great..... LOL about the extra hands...lol alot of time the gang lines up for some butt rubbins' so I could use the extra hands but you need to come south...lol even though its cold here...lol

I have a rescue pug here..and wow he took his old time showing affection here..but NOW he is the best cuddler on the planet and all about affection
that took a year and half to get him to this point.
one to one time and tons of treats worked..but it sure did take its time..
rescue dogs are scared of the world usually..takes time for them to come around..
how long have you had Rocky there???

bothers me too that Bella is not as affectionate as Gus is too
she has really been the last day and half but that is not her nature..
would love both bullies to be like Gus..

Cookie , my girl likes to be in the same room on any soft chair, but that's it. no cuddling, no playing. When My husband comes home she comes to greet him and loves a butt scratch and any food but that's it.
Bob is always with me. He loves for me to throw his balls or toys. He loves being touched all over, including belly rubs. He will sit in my lap and watch tv in the reclining chair. And when he's had enough of that he'll sleep on the floor at my feet.
They are so different.

she is velcro.

If she is in the same room she is sitting with her paw on my foot or holding my hand. She sleeps 100% of the time in bed with her head on my hip until she can not sit no more then she has her paws touching me. Whe i leave she watches me walk out the door or out of the room. If im in the house she watches or follows. If i take the RV and leave her at home, someone will have to get a leash and get her out of the yard or she will sit in the yard all day.


Bella her mom is NOT like that at all. Holly looks for food if we are in the kitchen and wants to play all the time. Bosco can care less as long as we direct him to the right door to go outside and potty and show him his food dish with food.

Breve' is attached like glue. She has been sleeping in my bed since she was 7 weeks old and in my arms since she was born.

Rocky came from a hom where thre was not much of anything except backyard breeding, I have only had him just over a year now, and he gets more cuddly every day, somday he will jump on th couch, and turn aroung and just plop his big stinkiy butt on my lap, and then just sit there waiting for me to pet him,

where Gus would forever give you a kiss and cuddle.Bella prefers to be on her own..
and hear I thought that male bulldogs would be the more affectionate of the two..
does not sound that way in your case for sure..

I do not get many kisses from Bella but Gus is totally opposite..
glad to hear that Audrey is up snuggling on the couch....

and she is now starting to cuddle on the couch! YAY! She really loves to play and depending on what she wants to play with, she's pretty good at communicating what she wants.

they waddle up to you and brush you to be petted..

I have to kiss Gus so he does not get startled..

Hazelle is not stop 100% all of the time touching you. She loves love, and loves to love.. it takes her about an hour to settle after we get home. She is about as crazy and energetic as they come. When I am sick in bed, she will stay there curled up into me for 3 days straight.

Winston greets us for about 5 mins with wiggle bums, but would rather share his love from across the room. I make him stay on my lap for a good rub down a few times a day.. but he prefers to sleep in one of his own spots.. except at night, when we share a pillow.

both get nutty about 9pm playing after the baby is asleep, and both sleep on our bed.

bulldogs ehh!

they love to kiss ya...I love to smooch on Griff and Gracie while they are sleepin' of course not sugar or she would be startled.... but they love that...gracie and Griff come over and paw at me to rub them down and love hugs
