all advice cheerfullly accepted and I know well-meant, but I am beyond the issues in this bookk. I lost my spouse to cencer and have done a LOT of research, and have unfortunatley concluded that there is no safety anyhere, regardless of ritual. Despite that cynical lawyer's view,I can tell you right now to do evreythin you can to avoid cancer, becuase this is absolute hell. I am no afriad of dying, I am afraid of suffering, which is where I am right now.

And yet look at all thos poor souls in Haiti snuffed out in a second. I can't figure it out.

I didn't pick it up, but I thought about buying it for my MIL who is a stage 3 colon cancer survivor. It's been about 15 years. She'll be 81 in April.


I don't rescue animals because I want to feel better about myself, or morally superior to anyone. The best part of my life with animals is the humility they teach and the humanity the foster.

I was at a Barnes & Noble store today and happened to see a new book with the title "Anti-Cancer." It is written by a medical doctor who was himself diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. He refused to just sit back and accept the diagnosis. There is a lot of complicated medicalese that I didn't fully understand, but the doctor devised some ways himself to fight it and has now survived 15 years past the diagnosis he was given. One chapter in particular caught my attention, and it was fascinating. It's called "Breaking News" and it tells the story of Mouse No. 6, a story few will ever forget. While experimenting, they injected the mouse with two million cancer cells. It didn't get sick at all, tho all the other mice did. Then they upped it to twenty million, and because they thought they might be doing something wrong, ultimately increased it to something like two billion cancer cells. The mouse still survived, as did half of its offspring. The scientists were astounded by the mouse (whom they nicknamed "Mighty Mouse") and they are working furiously to figure out why it could completely fight off such massive doses. From what I read while scanning thru the book, there are a lot of fascinating things in it, including nutritional advice. Just thought I would mention it to you if you are feeling up to reading. Or perhaps your wife could read it to you.
