We took Molly to get spayed on Wends, we picked her up that evening and her bowel movements have been pretty much OK shes pooin a little differently, but our concern is yesterday her incision opened and since then shes been peeing like CRAZY!
We are taking her out constantly , and about 10 minutes after bringing her back into the house she pees, we take her outside and she cannot even wait to get into the grass, she pees on our deck, hasnt done this since she was a baby and she peed on her bed... and last nite she peed in her crate 2 times... The doc said its normal because of the spaying, I was wondering if anyone else experienced this, I'm goin to give it til Mon and if it doesnt improve, we will call teh vet..
Im just wondering if anyone else experienced this...
Another thing I meant to mention, which kind of irritated me, Molly is 5.5 months old and weighs 39 LBS and the girl at the front counter is telling me Molly will not grow anymore or if she does, not by much, which is hard for me to believe, because she still looks like a youngin and her momma was 87 lbs...what do you think about this?
Daisy did the same thing
She would squat and try to pee outside but nothing would come out or if it did it was just dribbles. Then she would come in the house and pee. I took her to the vet because I thought maybe she had a UTI but she didn't. The vet said it was very normal for this to happen. The uterus and the bladder are near each other and bruising can happen to the bladder when the spaying is performed. Anyways, within a week she was back to normal.
Kim & Daisy
great advice...and Miss Molly I hope you feel better
real soon...hugs lovie...ce
peeing and weight
87lbs!!! lol
if molly is 6 months old, she should gain about 10-15lbs or so. i doubt she will be 87lbs...but ya never know
with the peeing, it is normal for dogs to go more often, she just had major surgery. a uti can also develop, so i think your plan of waiting til monday sounds good.
if on monday, shes still peeing like crazy just try to catch some pee in a small container (just slide it under her when she pees) and take it to the vet to check.
hope she feels better soon,
liz
Re: Hi Guys- Question ... Mollys excessive peeing... after spayi
Bugsy got spayed right at 6 months old. She did the exact thing. I called 3 emergency vets to see if it was normal. 2 of them said it was normal after spaying and 1 said it wasn't. I think the one wanted my money. Anyways, Bugsy's only lasted a day and a half and she was much better.
Good luck. Also, Bugsy weighed 40 pounds when she was spayed - she weighs 48 pounds at 10 months now.
