Hi EveryBuddy, we're back! HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Archived General Bulldog Chat

Christine and I had a FABULOUS break with our kids (including Roxy, of course). We had the camp ALL to ourselves since December 19th, and have enjoyed the peaceful solitude and wonderful family time.

However, I also haven't been near a computer since the 19th so i have missed all my friends at BDW! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas holiday, or at least a peaceful break if Christmas is not your thing. And we send our very best wishes that 2010 is GREAT for you all!

I look forward to catching up on the boards here, although it's going to be a slow process as I will have to be catching up in the office at the same time! Oh well, gotta get back to reality sometime, I guess.

Yep, we've got our share of snow...it came gently over a bout a three day period, great big huge soft flakes that just came and came and came. Ended up being a good foot and a half in one shot.

but it's also a tough way to make a living nowadays, with our economies the way they are. But then again, that can be said for almost anything right now.

...like a anything else it's definitely not all sunshine and roses. Lots of times I "hate" this place.

But that's what makes it extra great when we can stop and atually enjoy it for a while!

...that's funny, but I see how my post was confusing if you haven't yet heard about where we live.

We own and operate a tourist camp in NW Ontario. It is open all year round, but we shut down for a good stretch in December each year. We need to have a break sometime, and December works great because there often isn't quite enough ice on the lakes for snowmobiling or ice fishing, so it can be slow anyways.

We didn't go anywhere. We just enjoyed our own place with no guests in camp, our restaurant closed, and our partners (my bro and his wife) gone visiting their family. It was just us, the lake in our back yard and a little bit of snow...
