Submitted by Anonymous on April 20, 2010 - 5:26pmLate last night we found a "lump" around the underside of Maggie's neck/chin area.. She was crying and was obviously in great pain. She wouldn't let us examine her or anything.. I was bawling like there was something terminally wrong with my first-born and was up and waiting at the vet when they opened this morning.. ..this is the 5th trip to the vet in 2 1/2 weeks... anyway, Maggie was diagnosed with a hot-spot. It felt more like a tumor or a thickening under her skin that was really sore. She finally saw the vet and got a steroid shot, some antibiotics and Panalog cream and a spray to take the "heat" out of it. My poor baby is having a hard time over the past two weeks!! we go back to the vet again on Friday. I told them they needed to start accepting frequent flyer miles or issuing punch cards for "Pay for 10 visits get one free!!"
Sophie is pretty amused by the whole thing as she is usually the one in our household to have hot-spots!! She still tried to get Maggs to "play" with her stuffed St. Bernard!

One thing after another... poor Maggie!
Better days are right around the corner... I'm sure of it! Besides, with all the fun BCGS events coming up, we'd hate to see Miss Maggie cooped up all summer long. Hope she's feeling better soon!

That is the most pathetic I have ever seen her. Poor thing with a cone and a bandage on her foot. Looks like Sophie is trying so hard to cheer her little friend up. WHat do the vets say? SHe is having a string of bad luck lately.

Maybe you guys are getting a small glimpse of what we experienced in 2001.
I'm convinced that we single-handedly funded the clinic that year! I can laugh now, but it certainly wasn't funny then.
