Hi, I have a 3 year old bulldog that was stung by something, i dont know where, when i saw him this morning he was swollen and his eyes are swollen shut., i gave hin benadryl at 9am, he was itchy but has calm down a bit since, he is breathing fine, but still very swollen, should i take hin to vet, or what should i do, i was told to give him benadryl and watch him, and i have been. but he recently in the last 30 minutes started making those moaning noises, but hes alert and breathing fine what to do??? more benadryl, or take him to vet, or observe him??? help THANK YOU IN ADVANCE
Hope you went to the vet...
a spider or something bit Roxy on her nose roll and it took several months to heal. She was on antibiotics and I had to drain a dime size abscess daily. It finally went away, but it left a little scar.

I agree... when in doubt dont take any chances...
if you decided not to go to the vet and something happened or it got real bad in the middle of the night and something REALLY bad happened... you would never forgive yourself. If you havent seen it getting much better with Benedryl, then at least CALL the emergency vet and ask their opinion. Chances are, they are going to want to see him.

I've had insect bites before
Luckily, I have our vet's cell number and home number and I've never had to take them in. Coop has had welts all over him. AJ is less affected and the area may be hot to the touch. I've only had to use benadryl for the temporary affects of a bite or sting. There is a little concern for me in that your babe's eyes were swollen shut and not much improvement over the course of the day. I hope all is well now.

Please let us hear from your bully
I hope all is well.

I hope you took your baby to the vet
Insect bites can be deadly and are not to be fooled with especially if he is moaning. My Butkus got stung this summer and his eyes swelled shut and was oozing pus, he was an awful mess.....
Let us know how it goes....
