Here are a couple pictures of Gracie's cherry eye for those who haven't seen one. Also yesterday I mentioned a recent picture of our boxer, Ally, and I've included it here.

I live in Seattle and my vet has lots of bullie clients, I'll email you directly if you like with her name and number. Not sure if she does these surgeries or would have to ref to a specialist. Also the breeder of my bullie is a vet and owns a clinic in Ephrata, WA...I can email you their name and number and if the don't do the surgery I'm sure the can ref to a vet close to you. Let me know if you'd like these contacts

She's still got all the energy she ever had and doesn't scratch at it or wimper or anything. Also there's no excessive tearing like you'd expect if it was irritating her eye. As far as I can tell it's just obstructing her vision and looking kind of gross, but I imagine there would be long-term effects if we were to leave it like that (which we won't).

We've tried antihistamines and anti-inflammatory salves and they haven't helped. Actually I'm gonna make a different post requesting names/numbers of other bulldog-experienced vets in Washington state because her normal vet wants between $520 and $870 to do that one eye (her other one is trying to go, we keep pressing it back in), AND she hasn't ever done the tacking procedure before. The local ophthamologist wants $670 per eye + exam fee + bloodwork fee. Having searched through the archives on this site, it looks like normal is more in the $90-$200 range, and someone mentioned a vet in Seattle that's great w/ bulldogs and has this procedure down pat (i.e. less expensive). Spokane or Yakima would be better for me, but Seattle's only 240 miles away.

My Flash had surgery almost a year ago on both of his eyes for cherry eye, I wound up paying around 200 for both, but we live near cincinnati so I can't help you. He had them tacked, I didn't want to chance having to put drops in them everyday if we didn't have to go that route first. Good luck with your baby!

Heidi sent me to the Roosevelt eye clinic for a consult. The said if it is in more then out then they would do the surg. Boscos was in more then out for 2 years, then it was out more then in so i had it tucked.
Not sure if this helps....

It doesn't seem to bother her
