Got a ? - Is My Girl Jealous? Growling , jumping..
Submitted by admin on April 20, 2010 - 5:25pmOk guys last night we took Molly to a obedience class to sit in , she was an ANGEL she was the most well behaved dog there, she sat at my hubbys feet the entire time, even when other pups would come over and try to play with her, there was another bulldog pup there a male, and he was a cutie, when Mommy began petting him and talking to him Molly went nuts, needless to say she was ANGRY!
Is this normal behavior? Is this because we have no children and give all our attention to Molly? I guess we'll never be able to get another dog .lol ... she did the same thing to this golden retreiver, one minute they are playing and as soon as mom or dad payed attention to other dogs she would get all mad, and growl and stuff ... One minute she is playful with these dogs, then when we payed attention to them, and began petting or playing with them, Molly would get this nasty growl thing going on and try and pounce on them... my girl ... shes so precious .. lol so what do you guys think...
Lastly, I have to tell you guys I was kinda poed because the owner of the other bulldog male there who was 3 months old said he got the pup from Alabama asked are you going to breed her, of course we said no and he said I want to stud him out think of the money that can be made, I felt like slugging the guy

A puppy can get away with doing this to another puppy. It will be a different story when she reaches maturity and growls and jumps on another adult dog. Start early, it is easier to modify at this age. MoJo sounds like he is well on his way.

Lola gets jealous of people sitting next to me and she can't find room in between us. She'll start barking at them (something she rarely does). She'll usually calm down after a while. If not, i give her something to chew on to distract her. I tell ya... she has ME well trained!

but I do that to..I hates it when mums even picks up a toy ..and looks like she might be hugging it..so I pounces it and tries to eat its face..however mums don't like that....so I have to learn to share and the toys she hugging is to help me learns...cause mums don't want to use no real faces till I can behaves...of and if I don't attack I get belly rubs..and treats sometimes..not all the time..but I keep trying till it's the right time ..and I gets the treat..it's okay Miss Molly I loves ya..but try getting real nice about sharing your mums..and see if she has treats and belly rubs too...slurps to my girl...MoJo

You are in the right place - get the obedience. It is normal but it is a dominance thing. She wants her love from her mommy because she thinks she is entitled ot it NOW.
You have to let her know who is the boss. She thinks she is LOL!
(Wanna know how I know this? Cammy is the exact same way and WORSE. No one gets anything until she gets her love, treats, and attention. She is a dominant monster sometimes. She needs a lot of work...)
