I took Molly out to potty this morning, she is eating normally, doesnt have much interest in drinking, but def. eating good, she is acting alot better, a little strange but not by much, just not as jumpy and playful Anyway, I took her out to potty and she pooed 3 times this morning, which is good, but the last time I took her out we where going back into the house and she was on a leash, and litterally drug me back into the yard, and tried to poo but nothing would come out except this black mushy stuff
I hope shes feeling alright... last nite there was a smell coming from where they did the incision to but I dont smell it now .. anyway, does anyone have experience with this, will it go away? I called the vet, and they said its normal because Molly is trying to adjust and is just going to act odd ... they said if it continues for 2 days to call them.... what do you guys think.
HI Joanna, we didnt take her mainly because ...
What people say about 2 girls together is true, they got along most of the time, except when Ruby would want attention from myself or the hubby then Molly would get mad, and Molly is our baby ... They where constantly chasing each other trying to each each other up .... Ed tried to get his mom to give Ruby away, or to get her to sell her , but she has become to attached now, but its still the same routine, Ruby is still home most of the time alone.
Frannie...what ever happened with Ruby?
Frannie,
So glad that Molly had a good night! I don't remember if Sheldon got pain meds for his neuter, but I heard you can give dogs baby aspirin when they are in pain (but never ever advil or tylenol as it is toxic to animals).
Sorry I don't have any advice to offer you regarding Molly's spay, as my little Shelley Baby (as I like to call him) is a boy and didn't even realize "they" were gone
Re Ruby, I may have missed the post on this, but remember reading that you were considering taking her from your mother-in-law. Just curious what ever happened with that?
No we took her to our local vet ... I trust them, they are very
irritated me they didnt give her pain meds, but she seems ok , shes prancing around the house like nothings wrong... Cept the black stuff
I dont' know.........
They gave us antibiotics and pain meds for Diamond. did you go to a bully vet?
Thats another thing I forgot.. They didnt give me anything for h
Thats one thing that Eds mom thought was odd, because she just had Ruby spayed and they gave her meds for 4 days, they gave me nothing for Molly.... Is that normal
When Diamond was spayed..........
I am pretty sure she had the same thing, it was from some of the medication she was on. What meds did they put her on? That could be cause.
Molly
Good Morning Frannie,
I cannot help you with Molly's problem, but I want you to know that I am sending lots of positive thoughts and prayers for her.
Jane
Forgot to mention..
The first 2 times she went poo it came out normal, from there after is when the black stuff is coming out ... My poor pookiebear
Joanna, you are cracking me up :)
My hubby and I just got married in Oct. so Molly for us is like our first child you can imagine how babyed and spoiled she is , gets anything ANYTHING she wants... hahahahaha ... took him 3 years to propose ... you'll get there
I want another pup but the hubby is weary about it because of how Ruby and Molly acted with each other... and because our house is new so we didnt want anything to happen to it, its amazing how good Molly is , shes now 5.5 months old and doesnt chew anything, cept her toys, shes a good doggie, dont know if its because we trained her right, or she is just content with what she has/does.
But if we ever got another pup I'd want a male, fawn and white
Poor Ruby :(
She sure is a cutey, as is Molly! We are in no rush to get Sheldon a brother, that is why we are being so particular about the color, temperment, etc. We don't have kids yet, either...geez been dating for 5 years and not even married yet. For now Sheldon is my only baby. Could be months or even years before he gets a brother, but we are certainly thinking about it.
Thats so great your going to get him a playmate :)
I think thats adorable, I really wanted another pup for Molly to play with , but wouldnt get a girl, I dont think boys are the same, but you could probally ask Ce she'd be able to tell you .. lol she has 6 boys, so do some others, As far as a sister you could ask Lisa Wagner, she just brought Gertie home to Milo...
So amazing how we know all these people and their pups.. haha, I would love to have another bully, but we havent even had kids yet.. LOL and Molly was alot of work , I would rather wait til she gets bigger, she is still a pup.. Good luck if you do get another one ... oh and the thing with Eds mom is that she isnt home during the day or in the evening, thats what I meant, my hubby and I work all day, but at nite we are with Molly constnalty where Ruby is more by herslef or with the other dog , who is a humper.. lol
Wonder if it is the same for boys
How long is Ruby alone for? I work a lot and Sheldon is home alone most of the day and is just fine, although I come home to let him out during my lunch hour and take him to doggie day care a couple times a week. Maybe your mom-in-law should try day care for Ruby. Sheldon just loves it, I'm told he is the most popular boy in school and gets along with everyone
.
We have been trying to find Sheldon a brother. Sheldon is definately the alpha with his friends and I wouldn't want a newbie (is that a word?) coming in and trying to take over. I spoke with some breeders about this and they told me it is all about the temperment of the dog and to make sure the newbie has a more passive personality. Do you think it is possible to tell what type of personality a dog has at only 8 weeks of age? Do you think it would be better to get Sheldon a sister in stead?
