Going tonight for consult - Molly spaying, what should I ask?
Submitted by admin on April 20, 2010 - 5:25pmGuys, is there anything particular I should ask? We are taking her tonight for consult and stuff because I wanted to talk to the doc because Im scared 
Frightened momma... anyway, is there anything I Should ask ?

Well, not ask, but make sure they use Isoflourane.
Get the food/water cut off schedule for the day prior. Most vets will say cut off food at noon the day before and water between 6-8 pm the night before surgery.
Make sure she will be able to come home late the same day. If they want to keep her, refuse to allow it unless there is someone there round the clock to watch her. If not, tell them she IS going home with you later that same day. No bullie should be left alone the night of a surgery.
Make sure they have done surgeries on bullies and remind them they need to leave the breathing tube in until she is wide awake as we discussed before.
Everything will be fine and she will do great.
