I haven't seen a side by side comparison of photos printed by each, but I can't imagine the i950 is a huge improvement except when someone pulls out a magnifying glass. However, I think the photos printed by the 950 last longer. It's also a much prettier machine to look at.

Doesn't the i950 have 6 ink tanks rather than 4? I'm still trying to figure out how that works ....
The photos printed by the i850 with 4 tanks are SO nice. I don't know how they can possibly be improved on with 6 tanks. Sounds more like a hassle to me.

This past week I went do a site inspection with a lawyer who hired me to write a motion for summary judgment in a $10 million electrocution case. He liked my Kodak LS443 so much that we stopped off at a nearby Sam's on the way back and he bot one. I mentioned the i850 to him and he decided to get one on the spot also. But then he saw the i950 right next to it and choose that one instead. So I went back with him to his office and connected all of it for him. He brought the camera home with him for lunch and took some photos of his 21 month old daughter. When I printed them out for him on the i950, he could barely believe his eyes. The photos were simply stunning.
The i850 however still has a big edge in printing text. It's much faster than the i950, tho a bit slower at printing photos.
But they won't know about photo longevity for another 20 years o
right?
Function is more important to me that an impressive appearance ... ask my husband! LOL!
Yes, it has 6
