My bullie seems to get chronic fungus. I have gone to use of fungus pills and weekly dips from my vet. Last time it was on his back, this time it is on face and neck area. Can anyone offer more help or steer me towards some resources.....any help appreciated. The dog however is in no apparent discomfort.

TO ANONYMOUS!!!!!!!!!!
OKAY, YOU HAVE A RIGHT TO VOICE YOUR OPINION ABOUT WHAT I HAVE TO SAY, BUT YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE SO RUDE AS TO CALL ME CRAZY, IT IS PEOPLE LIKE YOU, THAT I DISLIKE, BECAUSE YOU KNOW WHAT, I BUST MY BUTT, JUST SO YOU CAN HAVE THE OPINION TO CALL ME CRAZY AND ALSO TO BE FREE. AND IF YOU HAD ANY OUNCE OF COURAGE IN YOUR BODY YOU WOULDN'T BE ANONYMOUS! REMEMBER FREEDOM ISN'T FREE AND PLEASE HAVE A LITTLE RESPECT FOR PEOPLE IN THE MILITARY! THANK YOU STEPHANIE
what would you suggest
Taking them to the vet is all well and dandy. And I would advise people to do just that. But when your poor dog is looking horrible and you have spent 100's & 100's of dollars and months & months at the vet and they still can't clear it up, you will try anything. And if people have had success with using this treatment hopefully others will too. But I would give a caution to to them to make sure you delute adequatly and keep away from the eyes, nose, ears & mouth.
crazy
Listen I have 5 family members who are retired Marines and I love them dearly but ....they are also crazy!! That is not necessarily a bad thing but they did and do bizarre and dangerous things! Thankyou!! I love the MArines I think it is the best military branch but you have to be a certain breed to be one! Thank you very much!
you are right.... but hoping
Hi Stephanie
You are right in saying what you said and I back you 100%. I can only hope that anonymous is just doing the friendly rivalry thing that the different branches of the armed forces sometimes do. I am an Air Force brat and witnessed this most of my life, even now I get ribbed, and yes, I kid back. But, we really don't mean what we say, we are all proud that we or our parents served our country.
Respectfully

p.s. I'm not anonymous

I am a Certified Veterinary Technician and I have to say I know what I am talking about when I would advise against using Clorox bleach on animals or people for that matter. From my own experiance I have had severe burns all over my hands from useing a bleach mixture. You do not mess around with bleach. There are so many other products out there to take care of these problems more efficiently and much more safely. I would not want to be the one responsible for advising someone to use bleach on their dog and then find out they ended up in the ER for poisoning. I have taken care of dogs in these situations and it is not a pretty site. Take your animal to your veterinarian and he can recommend safe products to treat these conditions.
Clorox
I aggree with you Helen. I am a U.S. Marine and when I come back from training in the field(woods), I would always take a bath in hot water with a little Clorox Bleach. I kills almost all germs and bacteria, also great for athletes foot! I have soaked my feet many times. Plus we put it in water to make it drinkable! So I really wouldn't worry about your bully absorbing it, just watch his little eyes and ears! The only bad thing with clorine in Huge (I mean Huge!) amounts it could cause damage to the liver. But you could drink three bottles of bleach and not die (we had a girl do this to get out of basic training) so relax I would do it to my bullie if he had a fungas problem. And trust me I love this Dog! I would never hurt him. So I would try it-Stephanie and Maximas
Clorox
Kerry, come on now, Why do they us Clorine(which Clorox is basically) in swimming pools? Do you think it is absorbed by swimmers? They use it to prevent germs, fungus, athletes foot, etc. 50 years ago Clorox had a pamplet on all Clorox bottles telling what mixture to use on people and no one was hurt if the mixture was followed. It was advised to use for Athletes foot, Ringworm, Inpetago, Poison Ivy, in fact any fungus. The pamplet was removed because the medical people claimed Clorox was practising medicine without a license. I used it on 7 children back then and now for the past 25 years I use it on my dogs with great results and my dogs mostly live to 14 so if they did absorb it it doesn't seem to have any adverse reactions.
fungus
I will try the chlorox solution, if it helps on the feet it would make sense to try on body. Thanks
May wait a bit since I just dipped him sunday in fungicide. Thanks
fungus
I have also used the clorox solution with great results before. Be careful not to get in his ears and eyes as helen said. Good luck.
fungus?
What kind of fungus?? Has your vet done a sensitivity culture? You need to find out what species of fungus it is and what it reacts to so you can properly treat him. I would NOT use a clorox rinse. Bleach will aborb into the skin and cause toxicity and even poisoning!
Good Luck

Fungus
Have you tried rinsing him with 1 gallon warm water with 1/2 cup Clorox in it? Take care not to get it near the eyes. Use cotton balls dipped in it to wipe the face.
