Friday a.m. Fluff update
Submitted by Anonymous on April 20, 2010 - 5:27pmFirst, thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers. I haven't been able to get on too much to read everything or post.
Fluff seemed to have a more comfortable night. Her rear right leg is swollen twice the size, almost down to her feet. It is draining, though. It is very painful, and we had to give her pain medication in her catheter twice last night.
Her temperature is staying down. Highest is 102.9, which is a lot better than 105.6. She did wake me up about 1 am, panting, warm and uncomfortable. I gave her some water, and got the "frozen towel" out of the freezer, wet it down, and covered her with it. After a while she settled back down and went to sleep.
When I woke up this morning after 7:00, I immediately reached and felt her along side me. She was so still, and cool, to be honest, at first I thought she had died. Then I felt her breathing. I sat up, and she was just stretched out sleeping, and no fever.
So, took her back down to the vets so she could have her IV's, medications, and do another blood panel to see how things are looking.
I layed her in the front seat to drive her down. She sat up (the best she could with a stiff, swollen leg), and I said "Fluffy want to go for a ride". She cocked her head, looked at me, looked around. So, that was a wonderful sign because she was being alert. Believe me, there has been times she almost seemed comatose, not responding.
She is still 50-50. But, for this morning, she really seems better, and my vet is still feeling that she will recover. I have told him of all the prayers from across the country that are being said for her.
Well, I've got to go try and take a nap before he calls and tells me to pick her up. I am so tired right now. Again, THANK YOU ALL. I love you all.

Patti and Fluff
Patti,I want to thank you for taking the time to keep us updated on Fluff's progress. You must be close to exhaustion with the stress of her being ill and driving Fluff back and forth to the vet, and still trying to have a regular routine.
You and Fluff are in my daily prayers and will continue to be until Fluff is fully recovered, and you are finally able to relax and enjoy the company of your beloved Fluff. I am also sending some warm glow and healing thoughts.

Hang in there. I know what you're going through - we had a sick bully that took a week of TLC to get better. People don't understand when I tell them that my dogs are my kids.
Fluff, you keep working hard at getting better

I feel so bad for you and your poor little girl it brings tears to my eyes that you and your sweet little girl has to go thru this. I think about her all the time poor girl........Be patient things will turn around she's came this far she will get better I have faith. Go get some rest before you get sick...... I know this is taking alot out of you but it will get better:) Lots of love and prayers

Sometimes I wake up at night and if Norb's not snoring I shake him to make sure he's breathing. I did that last night because it has been warm here and our bedroom was warm.
