Frannie and Molly ....

Frannie, you said they didn't give you pain meds to take at home. ( we didn't have them either ) Are you certain they did not give her Rimadyl befroe they dismissed her ? Some vets do that after a surgery. If there is a chance that they did, do NOT give her any other medication. Black stools can be part of an adverse reaction to Rimadyl..even just one dose. I'd check with them about the stools anyway, and DEFINITELY have them check her chart and see what drugs they gave her .

aspirin cross post..

I posted a reply on the medical board. I would never suggest anything so someone if I thought it would harm the pet. I have done this for years with no problems even under the suggestion of my vet. I am not saying give one every 4 hours, just one a day will usually relief pain, especailly good for an arthritic pet.

Hi Helen - Where ya been :) I didnt give anything to Molly shes

ASPIRIN IS A NO NO unless your vet says to

Definitely do not give it after major surgery as it is a blood thinner in addition to pain relief and you could have a big problem on your hands.

HI Pam! I'm not sure what they gave her but she is DEF. fine. LO
