You are all such angels, with your prayers and messages both on the board and by email. A special thanks to Margaret for some great help and support.
Today, Fluff is much more alert, her temperature is staying good. However, the infection is still there and the leg is swollen even worse. We have our routine down good, go in the morning to vets, stay with IV's full of different meds during the day, then come home for the night (and sleep in bed with mommy and daddy)
Chancey, her daughter, really knows something is wrong. She is being very quiet, mopey, etc. Here is a picture of her once today. Came out and she was on the couch, resting her head on the end, looking so sad and lost without Fluff here.
As soon as we got Fluff home, I put her in the yard and she pee'd. Here she is, looking alert (such a change, except, the afternoon sun was in her eyes.
But, the REAL sign she was feeling better was the hose. When I asked if she wanted "water" (which she loves biting and playing with the water from the hose), she perked up. So, John took the picture while she "bit at the water" for a while.
However, she still has a way to go, with a lot of infection. We have some very special antibiotics being flown in tomorrow. This is what her leg looks like. Compare it to her other leg, it looks like it is ready to burst. No wonder she hurts.
I tell you friends, I was ready to give up there for awhile, it looked so bleak for Fluff. I know she is still a sick girl, but I really think we have rounded the corner barring any other set backs. We just have to find the right combination of antibiotics and make sure we totally get this bacteria out of her system. But...believe me, the way she is today, I am so thankful, and thankful to all of you. I know prayer works.
Oh Patti....Kisses to Fluff!
Get well little girl, were all rootin' for ya!
Oh! My heart goes out to fluff! Get better soon girl! nm

Don't know...
She didn't have any cut or anything. But it is the same as why one person might come down with something and another doesn't. Being older (she's almost 8), she just had some bacteria in her that went wild. She was very, very septic there for about 4 days.

How on earth did that happen?
Was she injured or cut in some way? Do they know how the infection got started? Poor, poor thing, but at least after the antibiotics do their work she will be all better.
But what caused it, if they know?
OMG Patti
I don't think I have ever seen a leg so swollen. The poor girl. I'm sure that has been extremely painful.
So glad to hear she is more perky and able to be home where I'm sure she is much more comfortable.
Thank you for keeping us so updated as I'm sure you and John have been incredibly stressed. Glad it looks like she's turned the corner and she's going to be fine. Hugs and Smoochy kisses to Fluff and Chancey.
So glad to hear she is better
that leg looks awful, poor little girl, I don't see how she is even able to walk at all. Give her a big kiss and hug from me and Theo. She is still in our thoughts and prayers.
Poor Baby
I cannot believe the size of her leg...that looks so painful
I am glad that she is reacting to and enjoying one of her favorite things....biting the water from the hose
. I cannot wait for your post that she is feeling normal and has a clean bill of health from the vet....it will happen!
Big hugs to all of you from Gretta and I.
Wendy, she got a bad bacterial infection
It started in her right shoulder joint, now her rear leg. She's been on very powerful antibiotics since this started last Saturday. She had been running constant fever of 103.3 to 105.4. Her Temp has been normal or just above now for a day and half.
Ohh poor Fluff how that leg must hurt and feel as though its tea
Hang in there sweetie!
Patti and John-

Re: Fluff update (pics), ooops I had posted 1st on the other boa
Wow, that is a nasty looking leg for sure, but glad she is better and will continue to improve with our prayers!! keep us posted!!
Patti, John and Fluff..
I think it is so wonderful that Fluff gets to be treated at the vets and then come home with you in the evening. What a wonderful Vet you have! That in its self will heal Fluff even faster.
You are continued in our prayers daily.
repost from other board....
Bless your hearts Fluff and mom and dad!Even Chancey too. She does look lost without Fluff there!! So extrememly glad to hear that Fluff is doing better, but I know that leg has to hurt. I had a similar infection settle into my little toe after just stumping it a couple of years ago, and I was a big ole baby 'bout it cause it hurt so bad, so I can sympathize with ya Fluffster. Keep on getting better, and we'll keep the prayers and positive thoughts going up for all of you! Take care mom and dad too, I know it must be exhausting.

So happy Fluff is doing better......
lots of bully prayers and good thoughts heading your way - it hurts so to see Fluff in such pain....
Oh wow .....
That swelling is terrible to see! Reminds me of how my foot looked last July after running into the lawn sprinkler in the dark. My foot filled with infection and was HUGE!
The poor girl. Best wishes for continued improvement.
I'll watch for more updates.
I'm so happy to hear
We are so happy to hear Fluff is doing better. I know she's not out of the woods yet, but to know she's still fighting makes all the difference. We are praying for her and for you. I know God has his angels taking care of the little girl. Please keep us posted.
God bless all of you,
Kristen & Madison
Oh, poor Fluff
I am glad that Fluff feeling better. Her leg look really bad... Poor girl.
Patti... So glad Fluff is feeling better....
..and that she is on the road to recovery!! Her leg looks truly scary.. Wow!! That poor girl!! Once she gets the right combination of antibiotics she will be on the road to recovery!! Thank God!!
You can tell by the look in her eyes in the picture of her "biting the water" that there's that little mischievious spark in her eye!! She's on the road to feeling like her old self!!
So glad things are looking up!!
OMG! That looks terrible! But-
at least she is showing improvement. One step at a time. What on Earth could have caused her leg to swell like that? Just makes me hurt for her to see that! Are you sure she wasnt bitten by something that she is having a reaction to?
I know I am no match for VET-WISDOM, but Im assuming nothing like Benedryl would help if that were the case? (a bite of some kind)?? Poor FlufferGirl! Give her plenty of hugs and kisses for us!
