Just got home from down at the vets this morning. Took Fluff outside for a walk to go potty. She at least is able to move slowly (better) with her front leg, but is now very tentative with her rear. It is like she has aged 5 years in one day
Talked with my vet, he said she is still very septic. That you see with very young and very old that it can settle in the bones/joints. Everything else is looking fine per the blood tests, and the white blood count isn't really that high. But her kidneys, etc. are all good.
Her temperature keeps fluctuating, from 102.4 to 103.6. At least she doesn't act like she is in pain, like she was the first morning. She just acts very tired. When I put her back in the kennel and left, she sat there and just looked at me. I went thru the door and watched her thru the window, and she just kept staring at where I went. I felt so guilty and terrible. But, of course, they want to keep her there, giving her fluids, meds, etc.
So, may-be tomorrow she might finally be feeling better. I hope so....Even Chancey is moping around. Funny, Chancey always wants on the bed with us and Fluff, but without Fluff here, she didn't want to sleep in bed with us, just on the floor. Like she didn't want up there if Fluff wasn't there.
Fluff
We are still keeping you in our thoughts and prayers! Hang in there girl.
It is so hard to leave them behind
but she is where she needs to be. Poor baby.
Give her a giant smooch

To look back at her and see those sweet eyes...
...watching you must just tear you up inside.. ..it's so hard to have to leave them, even if you know it's the best thing to do.. You and Fluff are in our thoughts and prayers and we hope she will be well enough to come home to you and Chancy tomorrow.
I'm kinda dumb about this stuff, but what is it that settled in her joints..?? Is the sepsis an infection..??
That must be so hard to leave her/
It is best for her. They will take good care of her. I hope she gets better soon.
Yes, Margaret
The way he was explaining, he isn't surprised if it is in her other joints, bones...That this is where it settles. I still don't undertand totally. May-be you can give a better medical explanation. Either way, it doesn't sound good, because I'm sure it is all the harder to get rid of. But, I guess at least if all her other organs, blood test results look good, that is a plus. But yes, she just was not the Fluff you saw.
I will remind Chancey what you said. I mean, now is her chance to get all the attention she wants, instead of trying to edge Fluff out, and now it's like she doesn't want any. Guess it's not fun without having the "game" with Fluff.
If she needs to be at the vet, then it's better she's there.
I know you want her home, too. Does the vet think that she's seeded her other joint, too? For her to be that sick, I am not surprised she looks tired. Please send hugs from us.
Tell Chancey that it's good for her to miss Fluff so she'll be nicer to her in the future.
Take care.
oh Patti..I'm sorry she couldn't come home yet...
but certainly undestand the vet keeping her there to keep her pumped with the things she needs....
...leaving her sounds like it about hurt you as much as she was hurting the first day....how difficult for you and she ..and poor sweet Chancey ...
my prayers still coming at cha..and many hugs....sorry you have to wait it out...that's the worst ....ce
Poor Fluff and Chancy
They don't know what's happening and are probably getting worried about each other.
Hope Fluff gets better and is able to come home soon.
I'll keeep her in our prayers.
Re; Fluff still at the vet's
I sure hope she is ok Patti, our prayers are still with you both!.
Oh .... what a tough wait
But we're still holding Fluff in our thoughts and prayers.
