a few words about rescue bullies,..if I may

...I just wanted to say to anyone who is considering a rescue bullie...
please do not let the huge vet costs you see Kris, myself ,Net or any others struggle with deter you.
...yes many rescues do have medical needs and some are enormous....but there are also others who have been neutured/spayed have none or not as serious , health issues...
..they all arrive at the rescues with baggage, but for many many different reasons....some from families with health issues themselves..or people who just don't want them any more..many many reasons..
and I am not stating that when you decide to adopt a rescue...you will not find many who do have expensives needs..there are indeed many of those also..but just keep the most important issue in mind
...rescues like sweet Cody and the others will bring something to your heart and home that nothing or no one else can..they are a wonder and a gift...so just be open minded ..if you are considering adopting...and considering rescues....certainly don't ignore the possiblity of money needs..but also don't be frightened away..from checking what is available
as adora-bull as the pupster are..and we all know that they will steal your heart...sometimes an older bullie may suit your lifestyle even better..and they are also just as wonderful...okay stepping off my root beer box...chuckle..ce

Thank you Ce...you are very speciaL..nm

...and not of chocolate!!!

Major ..you are a MAJOR doll..what a beautiful Bullie...

thank for sharing his picture....smile ce

OMG...

He is gorgeous! Wow!

so true!

and Major is gorgeous, love the photos

my other rescue is healthy and has absolutely no problems, but I know people who's greys have tons of issues, you never know. However, the love and loyalty from rescues is unsurpassed and makes it all worthwhile

well said! Rescues are like a Box of Chocolates!

Major is as healthy as a horse and a true gentleman. No issues to speak of with him at all. Great behavior- a lover!

I can't help but show him off!

My husband so lovingly termed our group. We got 2 of our Bulldogs through rescue. Gladys was six, we have had her for 4 years. She is as physically healthy as can be. MiniMe was 6 years old also, we have had him for 2 1/2 years. He on the other hand seems to have everything wrong with him, which we knew when we adopted him. Both came with behavior issues, but we have dealt with them. I certainly do not love one more then the other and I wouldn't trade either one for the world. Our third Bulldog, Clem is 11 years old, we have had him since he was 3. We will, when the time comes, adopt another dog from either rescue or a shelter. To us, there is something so very special about adult dogs that need forever homes.

Except for the routine vet visits.........

I've had NO health issues with my rescue.
Ce is correct, not all who end up in rescue have needy health problems.

You all are doing such a great job

I honestly think my next bully will be a rescue -- because I am getting to old for the puppy thing. When we first decided to get Daisy -- I wanted a rescue but hubby said no lets get a puppy because an older dog could come with problems. I love Daisy, but she also came with problems, lots of skin issues!! So either way I don't think it matters -- some of us are lucky to have a healthy bully and some of us aren't. But we love our bully and we do what needs to be done.

Plus I think I am getting too old for the puppy thing anymore! Whew it is alot of work!!! I am ready for my lazy sleepy bully that they characterize bullies as being!! LOL!

And Ce I just have to say -- I love what you are doing for Cody. You truly make my day posting pictures of him. He really looks so happy with you.

Nothing like a rescue....

How true. A rescue is a velcro dog. I have one touching my feet as I am typing this. They are incredibly loyal. Most of the baggage was caused by previous owners and can be fixed easily with proper handling and care. The bond that will result from taking in a resuce is like no other. I am a believer!
Well said Ce!

Rescue bullies

Here! Here! I second that notion. Bubba is a rescue
and he did come with medical issues but he is worth EVERY bit of time, effort and money I have spent on him.
I love him SO much that I can't imagine life without him!

I agree 100%

Oreo has brought so much joy to our lives.

:o)

Spoken like a true bullie lover (I know, I know...animal lover) .

agree :-)
