I have anther question for all of you. I will be returning to work next week monday so I need to adjust my pups feeding schedule. Currently I feed him 3/4 cup 3 times a day. Once in the morning, once around noon and again at 6:30pm.
Since I am returning to work I will not be able to feed him his second meal until after I get home from work. I was considering two options
1) Feed him 1 1/2 cups twice a day. once in the morning and once when I retrun from work. I could slowly increase his morning and night meals and descrease lunch leading up to monday.
2) Feed him 3 meals. 1 in the morning, 1 when I return to work and 1 around 8 at night. My worry here is having to get up at night to let him out.
Any opinions or suggestions would be valued!

I work full time too...
Luckily I work only 4 miles away & was able to come home at lunch time to feed & take my pup out.
I DO live in the real world of bills and working hard. I've been a single parent for many years and didn't even get a dog until my kids were teens.
Anyway...It's still to long for your pup to be home by his lonesome self all day. He'll be covered in pee & poop when you get home. There's no way he can hold it all day.
Please try to get someone to feed him and take him out for you at least once a day.
Can your neighbors help?
Jez came to me quite by accident. My daughter bought her and needed me to keep her because she lived in an apartment. I was not prepared for another puppy and my two other dogs were not receptive to her at all when she first came out here. I have a next door neighbor that does not work and had him come over regularly to check on her to make sure she was okay. I cannot make it home for lunch because I work 27 miles from my house. But within a week the other dogs accepted her fine. I would leave her outside in the morning and my neighbor would come over around 11 to put everyone in the house because of the heat. Of course now Jez is 3 and I have installed a doggy door and the dogs have better run of the house than I do.
Re: hire a dog walker
In an ideal world I wouldnt have to work and could spend the first three months training my dog.
Unfourtunatly I live in a little place called the real world were bills arrive in your mailbox and you are required to give your time to a organization focused on creating revenue.
Hire a dog walker
Hi,
If your pup is under 4 month old he really needs to be fed 3 times a day. Can you have someone come in during the day to feed him & take him out?
A little guy being home all day by himself is not a good thing. You should have thought about that and/or made arrangements before you got him.
It's no problem once he's older and housebroken. Adult dogs usually eat twice day & can be left indoors all day without having to go out.

how old is your pup?
and will someone be coming to take him out at some point during the day to potty?
