Fat Girl...officially the worst holiday houseguest ever!

Well we came to stay with my father-in-law for a few days, and Fat Girl usually loves it here. He has 2 corgi's that love her and they usually spend days playing, and you can see the exitement in her eye's as we pull up in the driveway. We make the trip every couple of months. My father in law sleeps in the guest room because it has the smaller bed and is sweet enough to give us his bedroom (with the king size bed)Well this trip has been well.....eventful. The first night she peed in his bed, and then this morning he was going to take her out for us, so we could sleep in, she woke up before we did and started roaming around the house, he asked if she wanted to go out, and then she turned and starting trotting back to the room where we were, he was trying to let up sleep late so he was trying to get to her before she jumped back on the bed, I really didn't know what was going on, becuase I was half asleep, but when he got into the room she turned around faced him, growled & barked!! she NEVER barks. And she is never, ever aggresive, My Father in law picked her up and took her out, as he was carrying her outside she licked his face a few times!!Then when I got up I went into the back yard and was going to play fetch with the corgi's (a game Fat Girl usually thinks is disgusting and demeaning) I was throwing the football for the other dogs, they would go fetch it and then Fat Girl would tackle them down to the ground and take the ball away!! She would never actually go fetch the ball just take it away from the dog that went to all the trouble to actually go get the ball.(very playfully, you could tell she was trying to play, but I'm sure as you all know, bulldog play is tough stuff, but I'm convinced after watching her in action she needs to be drafted by the NFL, she would make a great tackle!)My father in law is such a sweetheart though, and hasn't uttered a complaint yet. Wish us luck, that she doesn't learn how to strike a match or anything for the remainder of the visit.

Rotten Rosey - house guest from he**

That was funny!!

Rosey also needs to brush up on her manners when we are house guests. Rosey's little stunts however, seem to be directed at the canine members of the family with whom we are staying.

During our last visit with my Mom (who has a 7 year old Golden), Rosey colleted up all of the toys from the back yard, put them in Levi's (the Golden), dog house, then backed into the dog house, sat on all Levi's toys and wouldn't let her in. Levi is not really very bright and sat there crying, and crying. Rosey would not let Levi up on the couch. If Levi snuck up on there, Rosey would bolt like a canon ball and come flying onto the couch and kick Levi off.

Rosey will pee on ANY dog's bed, and this is REALLY embarrassing for me. She will walk into another dogs crate, pee and walk out again. She did this to Levi's crate, Levi's bed, and even Levi's stuffed toys.

Rosey dumped over Levi's water every time my Mom filled it up. Rosey would run in and out of the dog door and not let Levi in.

The minute Levi would break into a trot, Rosey would be nipping at her heels.

Levi quickly learned that is she wanted to play with a toy she had to hide from Rosey...well Rosey would hunt her down underneath the dining room table and take off with her toy. And rip around the house with it in her mouth as if to taunt Levi.

By the end of our visit, I think poor Levi was a nervous wreck.

I have a story too...

My mother and father invited our family to their dogless home for a visit. They told us to bring the dogs. At the time of the invite I had only two. Two days before the trip to my parents I got another dog. I could tell she was just being polite when she said "more the merrier". So we piled into the truck for the two hour drive. Myself, my husband, two kids, three dogs and gifts.
I was not sure how the new bulldog addition would behave so I had him on a leash for the first two hours. He seemed fine so I let him off. I was being commended for having such well behaved dogs. I was in the kitchen with my mother admiring her fake poinsettia plant when he hiked his leg and peed on it. My reputation of well behaved dogs went out the window that day. It may be a while before I get another invite.

That's funny......LOL, Thanks!

What a good story. You'll have to make sure you keep us up to date with the next installment of the antics of Fat Girl.
