Entropion surgery - recovery?
Submitted by LabsinMA on April 21, 2010 - 12:33amHello I actually have a Labrador who had his eyes operated on last week - it will be a week tomorrow. He had his eyes tacked at 6 months old and it didn't work. He is now 15 months old and had the surgery on the bottom lids on both sides. One side was worse than the other. He came home with very droopy lids and it's a little better now but still really droopy especially on the side that was worse. Will this tighten up and look better with more time or is this it? It's pretty droopy - he will need to have it fixed again I think if it stays like this. I know he feels better now but people will ask what's wrong with him. Help - will it get any better? Thank you in advance.

Hank's eye was droopier after his entropion surgery but after a while it did tighten up some.

It will improve with time...
Dolly had entropion surgery twice when she was just a little over a year old. Her lower lids sagged quite a bit at first but with time have tightened up & the droop is barely noticeable now that she's 5 yrs old. Her wrinkles & folds just kept rolling in so it's a good thing the vet took out as much as she did or Dolly would have been having the surgery a 3rd & 4th time. Good Luck!

month for them to look ok then another month to look normale e had both his done...so give it a couple of months and they will tighten up.....
It will tighten up somewhat once all the inflammation is gone,--
but it still may end up droopier than you like. It's basically cosmetic though, so it will be up to you if you want to put him through another surgery to make it look better.
