Emergency Health Fund

I have been trying to catch up on the board and everything that has been happening and I'm sorry Webbie but I didn't see your post on the emergency health fund. I believe it is something that can be put together and I seriously think it is a great idea and will put 100% to help get it put together. There are so many people on this board that face tremendous vet bills that are unexpected. I want more than anything to go into rescue full time but the most I can do right now is contribute funds where necessary to help. Poor Jez had so many problems when I got her my vet bills totalled more than $2,000 in one year and that was with a tremendous discount. I am so fortunate that she has not had any problems in so long that I have managed to pay off the balance on the mastercard. I know no one will ask for financial help. Lord knows how many people we know on this board that are looking at huge vet bills to help give their bullies a good life. I would love to see a health fund set up so that we can contact those that are facing tremendous bills and offer what we have available, no matter how big or small to help out their situation. The information I have received on this board has been invaluable to me and saved me more than you know in vet bills. Since I am not in a position to rescue any bullies at this point, I would love to donate funds to those that are. Hope we can get something organized.

It's an excellent idea!!

And I really like the convenience of automatic deductions.

I agree it is needed.

What amazes me is that there are so many people who have to deal with very serious or chronic illness. I doubt very seriously that we will be able to raise a large amount of money to help with the many $500+ vet bills that many people have. I think the webbie can put his thinking cap on when his son is well and try to figure out who and how much to help(a difficult determination to say the least).

what I can do

Because of my own expences that have mounted for care for the rescues that pass thru my hands, it's really not possible for me to contribute $$ to the fund right now. I'd be happy to donate my art work whenever it seems appropriate to have a raffle or something. I can't offer the time to organize that though. It's heartwarming to see how this group rallies mutual support. Awkward to put it this way, but I'm kind of fried tonight, so forgivre me if I dont' word thid right. Before another bullie surfaces with costly veterinary needs, please everyone , give some thought to Georgia and Maggie. Kris and Butch will refuse help, but obviously you guys know how to make it happen. I estimate that expenses for their deserving rescued girls are now well in excess of $20K . And while little Georgia has been hospitalized, and Maggie had entropina surgery, Kris found herself unable to turn her back on Clementine, who's picture you all saw. With Clementine came Giardia, so for Kris and Butch, the S**t has literally come near hitting the fan. The many prayers have definitely helped to bring about miracles, but miracle don't come cheap. Kris, I'm sorry. I'm not attempting to impact on the support for Cody .. that couldn't happen, the way he is loved here. But, as I already said, I wanted to say something before another is brought into the light. And I also wanted to offer what I can contribute. Thanks.

and I third it.....

I would love to do what ever I can ...however the webbie sets it up I'm in ...and it's something to fill all that extra time webbie has and keep him busy and out of trouble...grin...ce

Thanks Denise

Im working the details now, wife had sons wbc took it svery slightly elevated so they dont want to do any operation now, properly so, but will monitor him over the next day or two to see if it raises or there is further problems.

on the fund I look at it this way, anything would help, from a dollar donation to a few hundred dollars, if it means not ordering a pizza delivery 1 day a month and adding 20.00 to the fund then so be it, i can do that and also i will kick in money from my personal account as well. The bulldogsworld site funds stay for Bulldogsworld (donations, entry fees to contest)because those are for that reason, so that is covered.

We really need something like this and something that everyone who kicks in even a buck can have a voice.

Sure all dogs have problems, vet bills mount for many and things happen, as a owner it is your responsibilty to raise and care for your dog, we all know that, but as friends and people who care about others when we can 0ffer a helping hand when the need is great, that is what makes us unique! that is what makes us the best group out there, and the best of the best! Not to many do things like this, and this is all in responce to what you guys have asked for, not something i asked for. so you guys are great!

One advantage is if there is a need somewhere and you guys approve X amount of funds to that need, then i can call the vet or rescue group and pay the bill myself over the phone directly to the vet or who ever. reason is i have a paypal debit/credit card which is linked straight to my paypal account, so if funds are donated to it right this minute, then in 1 minute from now i can call a vet and pay the bill over the phone with the funds just sent, which is really great and easy to do!

thanks everyone! more details soon!

I second that...

I will donate a monthly "fee". My husband pays a monthly users fee to play 3 different online video games. This board is my "online game". I come here to chat and HANGOUT with people I have a common interest with. Thats what he is doing with his games. So Ill just put it to him like that! lol

Theres an angle for everything! lol -Its all in the presentation with husbands! lol

I think this is a wonderful idea and Im behind it 100%for whatever I can chip in to help. I do not, however, want the job of deciding how it is dispersed! All I can say, is we have one hell of a webmaster here. He does so much more than host a site. My gosh, what a superman you are!
