Hi,
When we adopted our Senior boy Bruno in August, the owner said he was a good boy and never barks.
He is a wonderful fella ---BUT--he really does not bark---EVER!!!!
We are simply amazed by this. No barking sound at all.
When he and Max get into it he may make a yap sound but never a bark.
Anyone ever here of a non-barking bulldog?
He is just wonderful and fills our lives every day with love and happiness. He is quite a character at 8 years old!!!!
Our home is truly complete--all Seniors live in it!!!! LOL LOL
Thank you
You might want check a chronic barker's hearing...
dogs that have difficulty hearing or are deaf, tend to bark. Not saying all barkers are deaf. It's just one possible reason they might be barkers.

I don't rescue animals because I want to feel better about myself, or morally superior to anyone. The best part of my life with animals is the humility they teach and the humanity the foster.
Belle barks and barks and barks for attention or if she doesn't approve of what Junior and Bentley are doing at any given moment. She hears fine. She's just annoying.
Junior never barks. He will "speak" for a cookie.
Teddy barks if he sees a toy he wants and can't get to it.
Roxy growls at the door to go out and she yodels, whines, and barks at the gate if she thinks I'm getting leashes out and she isn't getting to go too.
Bentley is vocal. He whines like a baby if he wants something and he says, "Woo Woo!" if he hears a noise outside or his ball rolls under a chair.
Jon Katz "Soul of a Dog"
Ajax barks pretty frequently...
he barks for attention, barks when he hears someone outside, and sometimes barks for no apparent reason. We didn't think bulldogs were barkers, but I guess we got one of the few who are

Daisy has barked a total of 4 times in 5 years.
The first time we heard it was after about a year and we were stunned!

Nope Not barkers
They are typically quiet dogs, well except for the snoring, gurgling, snorting, and all those other cute noises they make.
I love the fact that they are not barkers. Barking drives me nuts!
I do not have real barkers here either...
Gus barks at odd things since he is deaf..he is also much louder then Bella when he does bark. but on a normal day he hardly barks at all..
Bella does not bark unless someone is at the door and then even..LOL she does not always bark.
the pugs on the other hand..make up for it..
they are loud and very annoying some days
must be a bully thing to be quiet..
Re: Doesn't Bark???
Bobo barks when he is looking out the window and someone walks by or if he hears something weird. He has a "baby" bark when he wants something and his big boy bark when he's doing some guarding. LOL
Remi isnt a barker
if he gets startled he may let out a yap. but hes never been a barker

sadly my Nacho is a "barker"
and it's very annoying

My 5 year old rescue.......
rarely barks. I can count on one hand how many times I have heard her bark!
They don't need to bark because they can give you 'the look.'
You know what I mean.
Bullies aren't barkers.
When peopel ask if my bullie is noisy, I have to say yes she is, but that's because of the snorting, snarfling, panting, snoring, pllltting, etc. She barks, but it's rare. She has the pitiful little dog bark (yap!) and the occasional big dog bark (boof!).
But don't be expecting a lot of barking. I'ts a bulldog thing.
It's common I think
According to THE BULLDOG BIBLE by Tania Holmes, barking is rare in bulldogs. Mine does bark but not much.... I wouldn't worry! Consider yourself blessed...my last dog was a Cocker Spaniel that barked incessantly. Not fun...
Tuffy's Mama
Dozer only barks if the doorbell rings, lol
or if someone knocks really loud at the door. We taught him to bark on command and it's funny bacuse the first couple times we were teaching he would only berf not bark. Now he will give a big booming bark on command but it took awhile to coax it out of him.
