Do you think I should change Daisy's food??

I can't decide what to do so please help -- Currently Daisy is eating Canidae and for the most part she is doing really well with it -- shiney coat, no dry flakey skin and firm stools. But I have noticed he licking and chewing on her paws, but only while she is in her crate. When she is out of her crate she doesn't bother with her paws. So I don't know if maybe this is a boredom habit or if she has an allergy. So I thought of changing her over to Wellness Fish & Potatoe. I hate to go messing with her diet if I don't have to. So please give me your advice!!

Perhaps she is bored while in her crate, does

she have toys to play with plus some dogs just like to lick their feet and no matter what you do, they will always lick their feet. I know, I have an 8-yr bully that does it...... good thing he is not human, might cause a fuss.

Also all my dogs are on Canidae and believe me, it is not the food....

Kim,

I wouldn't switch her food. If she was having a problem with it, you would have noticed it almost immediatley. Some dogs lick their feet for no apparent medical reasons, I think it is just relaxing. If you think she is bored, give her a peanut butter filled Kong to chew.

Good luck

hmmm... I wouldn't mess with her diet unless your sure that

it's causing an allergic reaction (thus the licking)... try giving her more fun toys in her crate (like konk w/peanut butter) and maybe putting some apple spray on her paws. Good luck!

Sounds more like boredom.

Try putting a kong toy with something in it. Or anything to occupy her.

do you have any toys in her crate w/ her?

if not, it just might be a boredom thing. when she licks her paws, how long does she do it for? the whole time in there? i don't know if it has anything to do w/ her food...

I forgot to mention

she has been on Canidae since the beginning of March. I didn't really start notice the paw licking and biting until about a month ago. But like I said she only does it when she is in her crate.

Thank You so much

I decided we will keep her on Canidae because she is doing so well on it. I just went out and bought her some new toys for in her crate. I got her a Kong, right now I put biscuits in it and she is going crazy, tonight though I will put some peanut butter and see how she likes it.

Hopefully with her new selection of toys she won't pick at her paws so much tonight. Thanks Again!
