Do CATS really have NINE lives..LOL? HOW are your bulldogs with cats??

I have a housecat. was not counting on a housecat in my life. not really a cat person. but I had a mouse that did huge damage in my kitchen..and so on. so the vet suggested a wild cat to do the mousing. along come Gypsy. she is part simese. I also became very attached to her when she got here a year and a half ago or so.

this morning, the routine was the same...Gypsy sneaks up here.......runs to her food dish and up on my lap for a fast cuddle. the dogs were all out doing their business. the moment they all come back in they all look for her..lol. all the dogs are fine with Gypsy but Bella. Gypsy is fast and can really run..so Bella can not catch her for sure. not sure what she would do if she caught her..and do not want to know that question..lol. Bella seen Gypsy this am. she does that loud bully cry and Gypsy takes off..

I was hoping to see a bulldog and cat cuddle story..but not the case here..

how are your bulldogs with cats?

Agree!

Maybe I shouldn't say so, but it's a free world/free forum. If you don't like any one post just skip it! What's so hard about that? =)

Email

But doesn't Pat have an email address? Having been the subject of a public tar and feathering on another site, for my opinions, I know how it is to be ganged up on, kinda like when chickens start pickin' the feathers off one chicken till it is dead. Except for that, I don't care either way. Remember Bulldogs are Lovers not Fighters [Mine Are]. Peace Ya'll

Gary, I have to defend Diana on this one

many of the old timers including myself are getting turned off by Pat's endless questions. The medical board should not be used to ask questions such as if a dogs natural instinct is to bark. It should be about real medical questions about bulldogs. We have all been here through good and bad times for each other but I think that one person should not be controlling this board. It is not what it is here for. This is my opinion but I agree with Diana that many others feel the same because we have discussed it off the board. This is one of the main reasons why I visit BDW less and less.

Let me just say this...

I think we all agree that Bulldogsworld has always been a place for all of us to come to to laugh, have fun, ask questions, cry at times, and enjoy all the silliness that comes when one is owned by these goofy, wonderful creatures we all love so much. happy.gif happy.gif

It has always been a welcoming place for newcomers too, and that is another thing I love about this board. happy.gif

However, it is not fun if it seems as if ANYONE is monopolizing the board. A lot of other good stuff, and sometimes important stuff gets shoved out of the way far too quickly. Someone else who may not be as vocal might post a post that gets completely no attention, I've seen it happen.

Diana is not a lurker as you claim her to be, she's been here for quite awhile. And she is NOT a person that makes others miserable or brings down the board. Her pictures of Mattingly and Jeter always bring a smile and a laugh. happy.gif

Since you were a moderator at another board, then you know that there needs to be a balance, and it's a give and take. Bulldogsworld does not need to constantly be poked and prodded to move along by anyone.

And each person that posts is an asset, that's what makes it a family.

Everyone was genuinely concerned for your son, and thrilled when he made it home, happy to read all the joy that your bulldog present brought. That's good stuff. Keep it coming.

well,

I am not sure if Stella 'likes' our kitties.
We have had Gunner longer than her

and we just got Kameko a couple weeks ago,

But I have caught Stella cleaning the kittens ears a couple times, and she and Gunner have played together on occasion:

I think she was just asking out of curiosity . . .

I'm curious about it too. Not being critical. I'm actually impressed by it. I'm definitely not creative enough to come up with such interesting questions on a day by day basis. Heck, I couldn't even do a weekly survery like Bill does, at least not week after week. Maybe once every month or two, but on the times I filled in for him, it was surprisingly hard work. Well, maybe not the same as mowing the lawn, lol.

Here's what's FUNNY about that....

I wasn't always a LURKER but you've made it so anyone who used to be a regular poster no longer wants to. It's become pAt's BDW. I'm just the only one who's willing to tell YOU how it really IS. It was fun at FIRST but now it's getting out of hand. You post one topic and before it's answered you post 250 more. You say you USED to run a board before this. MUST be a reason why it's past tense. Hey, no hard feelings, just KNOW that I'm NOT the only one who feels this way.

Diana, Mattingly and Jeter

AW!

your bullies love your kitties.
I am jealous.

I've wondered about that too, lol . . . spill the beans, Pat, do

of questions? Just how do you come up with all of the questions every day? Tarot cards? Ouija board? Voodoo? Portal to an alternative universe??

do not read my threads then..and better YET.......

maybe instead of rude comments..
you could post one..
instead of just lurking..
goodluck to you

I was a moderator on another board for years and people like you..make it miserable for the rest that come to enjoy the board..and post.
that is the thing about the board..you read what you want
and ignore the rest
or START your own thread

great pics Allison...

maybe it would have been better with the Gypsy here.if I had gotten her as a kitten.
she was 9 months old when she came here. very wild when I rescued her from the cat shelter here.. she has calmed down and quite the lovebug..over the past year.

wow..great video and cute pics..

I wish I could say it was the same at my house.
the cat has occasion played with Gus..but Gus is now more into barking at the cat..for some reason. he is deaf and he did not learn that from Bella...
I am hoping as the time goes..
the pugs and the cat walk around each other all the time..although they do not play with the cat either..but they tolerate each other fine.

you have beautiful cats
and beautiful bulldogs
great pics and a cute video

Buford loves his kitty. He will allow the kitty to eat his

food and stand there and watch- just for a few seconds. lol And the other day I caught them cleaning each others ears. Of course he loves to pounce on the cat when he is playing which the cat is not so receptive to.

Seriously?!?!

Where and why in the heck do you think of these random off the wall questions? Everyday no less. In response to both your questions...my boys dream of pussy cats all day everyday from what they've told me in our daily conversations that we have over tea and crumpets.

Like cats and dogs here

Brother the younger pup is curious and chases the cat, and then Buddy joins in, but Buddy is kinda over it. But the cat hates them both, she has no top canines [no idea y, I found her] so she puts on a big offence.

That's not what we're saying...

Asking questions is great, and enjoyed by everyone on the board, including myself! What we don't appreciate is the constant questions asked by the same person over, and over, and over again. It's as if they don't really care what the answer is, they just want themselves to be the topic of conversation. Please feel free to post whatever it is you need asked. happy.gif

Heavens no!

happy.gif Ask all the questions you want and/or need to!

I think it's the (to use Christie's word) "prodding" that has been a little overwhelming as of late. We're a very chatty bunch. We don't need "topics" to discuss every hour. Questions like yours might get missed in that banter, in fact.

geesh, now I'm nervous about asking questions

I have only had a bulldog for 13 months and I still consider myself new to the breed. I have a million questions that I know have been asked a million times already by others. Now I will worry that my questions will be considered trivial and redundant. sad.gif

Well said....

I appreciate the sentiment.

I know

I am not able to post very much (my only computer access is at work) but I read every day and have found this forum invaluable! I will say though, sometimes I feel like when I ask a serious question that my question is 3 pages away so quickly that I wonder if other people would have been able to help if the question would have been on the front for a little longer. That being said, I love the photos and most of the questions, it's fun to read about bulldogs in general for me as a newbie.
