Cody is here....

first the vet seems to think his largest health issue when all is said and done will be his dry eyes and eye infections...he has three things...natural tears...antibiotics and cyclosporin drops...
he weighs in at 50 1/2 lbs.
he has tri-otic for his ears.
the lump will take more in depth checking..it isn't deterimed what it really is..but not thought to be the most important issue at this time...and not life threatening.
all of ..yes 'ALL' of his blood work is perfect!!!!!
for those who asked and helped with the vet bills a very large chunk of it was paid by the donations here on the board I have worked out the rest with our vet...I think anyone who still wants to help in that area should prehaps direct those donations to Jane...or if you prefer to me...and I will take them to her..thank you all again you are my hero's ......any questions that I may be able to answer ask away....
our ride home was an anventure I guess the change to real dog food is upsetting poor Cody's system because about 2 blocks form the vet he really blew...so we released him in our yard..and poor hubbie had the honors of crate clean up..I was in charge of pictures..or of course I would have done it...chuckle..I am going to post pictures above very shortly..again ask away..and heart hugs to ya'all..he's a lovie...ce

Cody's nose

Not sure if you all will read this...I'm doing catch up this morning.
My Emma had this (not quite so bad). They called it hyperkeratosis and there was a special ointment that we put on it which was acidic. The ointment kind of dissolved the "crustiness" and then Emma had a nice nose which we could use the vaseline or bag balm on.

Ce you are the best

Ce I am so happy you have him now. He looks so happy with Mojo

Thanks, Ce!

I wondered. Maybe his breathing will improve as he finishes the antibiotics. Poor guy. I am sure he is wondering what has happened to him (for the better). He must wonder why he has a roof over his head, and care. Mojo must be a comfort as are you all to him.

oops and tail picture..sorta...

n/m

That is great news.

Ce, you did a wonderful thing. Cody is one lucky bulldog.

yes we have two weeks of antibiotics...

three weeks of eye drops and one week of ear meds for starters....his eyes are pretty bad..as soon as you clean the gunk there is more..but the drops, artificial tears should start helping soon...he can indeed see ...has hung his heart on hubbie and looks for him and follows him every where...
..he is very very very laid back...but really has some breathing issues when he gets excited for even a litle bit...i think he is thin he weighs 50 1/2 lbs..mojo is only ten pounds lighter...thanks ..ce

the tail...

Cody's tail is just like MoJo's a tight bun...I'll post the only bum shot I have so far...
the belly sores and the others all appear to be skin sores can't say more (webbies orders...)..no ring worm...
the vet here did the basics and started the meds ..on the most important needs...Poor Cody will be needing more refined treatments I am sure...and neutering asap!he has ah humping issues..,,,,maybe Jane would appreciate the info about the enlarged genitals...you might email her...thanks...here is the bum shot...and we have been cleaning it up..so much fun...grin...ce

So glad he is better!

What a good job you have done. Did the vet send home oral antibiotics, too or anything else for his breathing? Are his eyes clearing any?

Does he look like he can see any better? He must be fairly mellow, all of these new experiences. He does look thin, too.

Nose.......and a few questions

Could it possibly be an auto immune diffiency? Not all that uncommon on dog's noses, Sumo has a very mild case on the right side of his nose with a few raised bumps. Cody's poor nose looks like it has never been moistened. According to my local vet, the only breed she has NEVER seen it in is poodles. ACK!!! another reason to hate them

Anyway, if that is what the vet said, a dab of hydro cortisone a few times a week will help along with bag balm or liquid vitaime e.

Questions.....what is his tail area like and what did the vet say the sores on his belly were? I was concerned from the pic Deb posted cuz it looked like it may have been a ringworm lesion, which is highly contagious to humans and other animals.

And finally, what about his enlarged genitals? I can private email you and Jane with a great treatment that has worked wonders for us. Recommended by a vet and we have used it for years now.

The pics are just wonderful and got me all teary eyed. That swwet boy must be so relieved that he is away from that place and is getting help.

Nose...

I do not know if there is even a name for what is going on with Cody's nose. But not to worry. I had another rescue with this same problem. Some Missing Link in his food every day, and some vaseline on the nose, (or bag balm) and in time he will have a lovely soft nose again.
Jane

Oh I feel stupid! I didnt see you anwered that one!

Sorry! Relief to know it wasnt bitten off or frostbitten!

Ce, what about his nose?

Have they determined what happened to it? I agree with whoever said the chin sores appear (from the pics) to be irritation, but what about his nose?

wow his nose does look better.......

even the eyes look better too already..

Amen and thank god for that......Mojo Hope ya love daddy....

That has to be the best pictures I ill ever see is cody with his son Just hope I dont cry:)

somehow I knew you would understand..hugs sweet lady ...ce

I have to speak with Jane again...

and will let you know when Cody's big day is...smile
The vet said he is fine around MoJo...nothing Mojo can catch...they have met ..pictures to follow...smile...ce
I tell you it's that awsome bullie spirit...can't keep a good dog down...

answers ...ears....and picture of nose to help get answers ?

...yes alot of the gunk has been removed and there is plenty to go...not a lovely scent poor fellow..and lots of red sores under all that nasty gunk.
the nose ?okay maybe someone here can help with this...I was told it's a condition that boxers and bullies often get....and most likely has never been bag balmed or had any ointment on it...however I can not recall what they said the condition is...it just looks like parts are missing..but like I said maybe some one here can help..I'll post another picture of it.

and Deb ...yes I do believe Mother hubbard peanut butter treats did their job ...wowza...chuckle...
Mojo knows his daddy is here ..and is one big wiggle bum happy happy joy joy dance...hugs ce

here is the picture of the nose again...

Ques????????????

when does Cody leave you.....and is he ok for Mojo to be around.....
This is so cool wow what a fighter he is...
and a heart big as the world......KEEP GETTIN BETTER CODY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Questions...questions...

So much good news...you must just be loving him to bits!

Was the vet able to remove any of the impacted matter from Cody's ears? Did they have any hints about his poor nose? What about the sores on his feet/ankles??

Guess those peanut butter bones finally got to him, eh? Probably been years since he's had a real treat...

Steve is a very good sport!

Bet MoJo is going nuts wanting to meet his Daddy!

Deb

That's the important thing does he seem relieved to be out of the breeders care. It sounds like you have done a terrific job Give yourself a big hug and pat on the back from us.
I am assuming you received both the donations.
