Hi ya'all I thought I should give you an update on your donations...
the total right now including checks, that I know the amounts on ,which I will cover till they get here..and the ones that have arrived...is
total $1,240.63
Cody cost 1,000.00 (down from 1500.00 both costs
completely absurd!)
Deb's supplies for Cody costs and the rest to kristae for Cody will be the remaining $240.00 and any checks that I haven't covered or may not fore see will also be forwarded to Kristae.(however I think I have them covered or they are here, going by my list from talking to ya'all or my emails)
....
and because I have handling your monies and your all a part of this..I thought I best be honest with you all about any sna-fues and fortunas that have happened...
1st sna-fu..paypal...all the monies donated by paypal were 1,013.63
when I went to remove the monies and wire it to Deb to pay for her expenses for supplies for Cody..and for Cody himself..my paypal being a new account said I could only use $500.00 of it till I had my limits removed...there are a couple of ways to do this. Both would take either till my bank statement comes for a special 4 idgit number to be typed in..or my social sercurity number which I really didn't want to do on the internet..but did..and it was refused ..because the name I signed up with and the name on my SS card are different due to my not have included my middle inital on the account....this could be solved by faxes etc..but would take 7-10 days...no way...
..but my mum came to my rescue ..and took the balance of the monies we couldn't get out of lock down....from her retirement fund..and covered it for us.
sna-fu #1 covered...
sna fu two...the wired monies on didn't go through to Deb due to storms and lines being down between banks...finally after re-issues ..and some fancy foot work by Deb,myself and the banks it is in Debs bank as I type....
sna-fu # three through four hundred,lol...various bumps in the road all set for go now...
large sna-fu for tomorrow severe storms blowing across the entire trip in Iowa and Illinois, hail, high winds, high temps etc.....not sure about Omaha and Kristaes part...so pleased pray for a safe trip..and dear Cody to be as safe, happy and stress free as possible...
.....and one very important final note....
...this all started with my posting a sound off of disgust here about what I thought of the owners doing this to Cody after all his years of "service for profit"..but that was all I posted...if there are to be kudos for getting these donations started those go to Gary..whose idea it first was,,,not to me..I'm just the gunt and gopher here...and the rest go to all of you who after Gary tossed the idea in the ring...picked up the challange full of heart..and determinations..and ran with it..raising enough to give Cody's second half of his cherished life a chance at a heart and home of his own to be joy in..I thank your all...your quite the garden of hope and love....ce
Wings
I just wanted to say you all have earned you wings for this incredible mission. You have all gone above and beyond the call of duty.
I also wanted to say that I would help pay for hotel rooms for anyone on the Cody convoy in order to keep Cody and all of you safe from harm.
Please be safe and have a very exciting trip. You will all be in my thoughts and prayers tomorrow and make sure you take pictures, pictures, pictures!
Sue
thanks webbie..I finally figured it out...and
did get verified ,then to lift the take out limit I had to jump a few more hoops...the trouble was that it all takes few days...no matter what route I took with them..and the monies had to be in Deb and Coles
hands by today..the owner of Cody only takes cash or postal checks..surprise surprise...
....I am indeed glad they are so strict and careful..I just wished I had a clue that I couldn't just transfer the funds to my account and then wire them to Deb..can you tell how often I don't play with large sums of monies?...I am so challenged ...chuckle...but all is well and we are set to go...and when I get back I'm going behave really..be as quiet as a little field mouse enjoying a day in the meadow...grin...ce
CE_ ABOUT PAYPAL
I can say that paypal is VERY STRICT! They must secure every base they can and it really is for the best. I had to go thru all this a year ago. I know of no place on teh web taht is more sage or secure than Paypal is and I'm gla they are for teh safety of any one who sends money. You can get verified with them in 3-4 days, making you a premier member, no aditional cost, except you have been verifed by them. They make a few small deposits in your account, you then verify what they were (caution enter them exactly, after 2 trys and mesing up they will lock down your account, so enter them carefully) and then you will have no further troubles.
Seriously, maybe you all should have a stop and shelter plan.
Since you know your route, look up hotels along the route, so you know where you would try to go if the weather gets bad. Then look and see whether any hotels take dogs. You can look under the Pet Hotel link on the Bulldogsworld home page, too. Maybe Mapquest would tell you where the hotels are along your route. If time would allow, I would mail you one of our excess weather radios to take along. (My husband loves these.)
Ce you are an Angel..............
Words can not express how much of a true,kind,sweet,etc..........you are. I can not believe how far you went to help out this poor little bully. Like I said you are a True Angel;)))) God Bless You and have a safe and wonderful Mother's Day you deserve it.
Re: Maybe go for a Motel 6 then.
I was just teasing about the Holiday Inn...but I think it is very sweet of you all to worry about us travelers. Cody sure is having a change in his luck, isn't he?!
Thank you,
Deb
Maybe go for a Motel 6 then.
Years ago when I took my first bully on the road, we stayed at a Motel 6 once as they only took pets. Since then we have stayed at Amerisuites with Flora once, and I saw a Labrador there. So they take big dogs. I do think Holiday Inns take dogs sometimes, too.
I agree, after you get him, make a decision on what to do that is safe for all involved. I'll chip in on a hotel room, too.
That's so sweet...but...
I have to admit I'm chuckling at the thought of Cody, who's never even been inside a house, spending the night at a Holiday Inn!
Good Job on coordinating this
Good job on coordinating this. You are well on your way to earning your wings.

If by some chance the weather gets to bad to travel. Please get a hotel room and wait it out. Let me know if you need one I'll cover the cost just be carful it's hard enough driving in bad weather without the nervous dog in the back. I'll be home all week end if you need me to cover the hotel bill for anyone on the journey.
Aw Shucks Ce....you did alot of outstanding work..
on this...Gary did you ever dream this would become reality??
To the Cody convoy....SAFE TRIP you will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Wow! What hard work and a great job!
Ce! You and the others have done such a great job! It is dizzying and mind boggling what a flurry you have been in. Cheers for your mom who also came to the rescue.
