It's been a long time since I had a female bulldog in her first heat, and my memory of it has long faded. I just took Clovis out for a walk and she must have stopped 6 or 7 times to pee in just 5 minutes. Is this normal for a bulldog in heat, or does it sound like a UTI?
Also, do their personalities get a bit weird when in heat. Clovis is usually much more playful than Boo, but not as much of a cuddler. But this evening, she was attached to me like velcro, kept wanting me to scratch her, etc. And this morning, after she first got up and went for her morning walk, she came back in, jumped up on the sofa, and slept until 1 pm. For her, that is very unsual, as she usually plays a lot in the morning. Thanx.
Same here.
Gary,
My Snuggs is having her first heat too at 9 months and is acting alot different.I can't wait till it's over. She's trying to hump everyone and isn't as loving! Heather
Clovis' first heat came at almost exactly 9 months
and she is acting reaalllllly strange, lol. I think she is from another planet.
Maggie is almost 6 months...
My Maggie will be 6 months on the 23rd of this month. How does the first heat come, between 7 - 10 months? Should be expect it about 6 months? We haven't have a bullie girl in this house for about 10 years, only the boys have maintained residency here. I'm glad these questions come up. I, too, was wondering what that first heat would be like. Thanks for the information, it is very helpful.
1st heat
Yes they do seem as if they have cramps or the doggy equivalent at times with a heat. And they do get a little more lethargic.
awww so precious Clovis wants some TLC...
what a sweet girl...luck they dont pms like human females....oooooooohhhhhh. =)
Lily is very different during her heat cycle
She usually just wants to be left alone. You can pet her but she just isn't as energetic. Give Clovis lots of love and rub that belly.
