Chester's level still low but not any lower than yesterday...

we did more extensive blood work today than just PVCs so we know he is producing new blood cells. He was right now put on iron supplement and we started him on his thyroid medication. Another test tomorrow and we will be watching him closely as she feels transfusion is not going to solve his problem right now unless he drops below again. So every day is just so nerve wrecking but we will do what is necessary to figure him out. She does not want to scope him right now or remove any part of organs if it may be deficiency from his anemia. We are trying simple methods first as he has such a gentle constitution.
My boy is such a trooper, but his veins are just clobbered from constant draws and it it becoming more and more difficult to draw his blood. I feel so bad for him, i would like for him to get a break. Otherwise he is just the same loving, attention hungry, greedy and sweet Chester. Making Lily nuts because he is getting all this attention, she absolutely insane with jealousy. But she is a great girl and such a sweet baby, I know she understands. Even though she is the one who also needs love and attention right now.

kisses and hugs to all your lovely bullies and thanks for all your support, this is much appreciated.

Well, thankfully his levels didn't drop again:-)

Bernata, liver is a good, iron rich food that might help Chester too. Cooked I believe is best, but ask your vet? Might help some:-)

Best wishes to you guys. Many prayers still coming

it is always that way..when one is sick..the OTHER really needs.

a hug too.
I am sure that dogs feel for the other one when they are ill.
when Gus spends the day at the vets for his deaf study..all the house turns very quiet. it is like they know something is not quite right but then it could be sending off vibes..I am not the same without him either..

goodluck to Chester
hope he gets a break soon
will give my bullies a hug..
for Chester.

hoping you get some kind of answer soon there..gotta be very heart breaking to go through all this
forgot to ask how old is Chester??

I think he has some slow internal 'leaks'...

internal bleeding/aneurysm that is causing him to become anemic, and even tho he is building new blood cells (good!) he is having to work hard to just stay even, or lose some ground in blood volume (PCV=packed cell volume).

keep holding on....

it sounds positive....every day without a tranfusion is a good day...that means his body is fighting hopefully tomorrow no transfusion to....
