Chester is down again...ugh...

What a letdown, Chester is down again, dangerously close to transfusion (half point away). This is so frustrating. The vet decided to wait it out today to see if it will drop again (which means tomorrow he will receive blood for sure if that happens) or if he recovers. I feel so bad for my little man, he is like pin cushion and tries to escape every time we get to the vet...I am not surprised. This is why I hope and pray for improvement tomorrow. This loving and sweet dude has been through so much...his regular vet is back tomorrow, I will feel better talking to her about continuing treatment and moving on with whatever is necessary, transfusion or not...

the ups and downs are so hard........

still praying for Chester

No, it was GI, which seems to be calming down but ....

numbers still do not reflect it.

He's not bleeding from his gums or anything like that is he?

You are going the

'full nine yards' with Chester, that is for sure. He is one lucky pooch to have you for his momma. Try to keep your spirits up...very draining...I have been there.

You are living your life with him with no regrets! and that is the most fantastic of all.

Much love & my thoughts and prayers are with you and Chester.

they have excluded all immune issues...

i think he had all tests possible, it just may be time to carve into him, something I am very, very afraid.

Bernata and Angels Lily and Chester's picture

We have done two tests...

ultrasound shows very small shadow on spleen and vet does not think it is related, but I will certainly torture her again tomorrow with questions. Everything is on the table right now.

I double Celine.. double poo poo...

are they certain this is a GI bleed and not an idiopathic blood disorder?

[IMG][linked image][/IMG]

Jacinda and the bullies's picture

Poor guy

Could the bleeding be coming from his spleen? Or are they positive it's GI related? It sounds to me that it may be time for some exploratory surgery if he's strong enough. I will continue to keep Chester in my prayers. I know how hard this has been for you guys.

Diane... (pic) for you

Lily has been with us for over 10 years, she is our first bully baby, we got her from a breeder and she is my heart.
Chester is a rescue we fostered a year and a half ago and adopted him as he stole our hearts. We love him so much we cannot imagine not having him in our lives. Yes, it is frustrating to go through it as both of them are ailing, but it is so much harder on them...I just wish we could get Chester healing so that we could focus on love.
Here are some pictures...you may have seen them posted before, I just do not have time to downoad anything new these days, hope you understand...
