Changing Chloe's name

to HOUDINI.
My mom, who lives with us, has gone to Oklahoma to stay with my mother-in-law for a while to help her with some health issues. Chloe, who has a wire kennel/crate that she is hardly ever in, has been traumatized by her "mema" going away :0(
Yesterday my son had to go into work at 8:30a.m (he normally goes in at 1 or 3 in the afternoon. When I got home (about 4:15) she was VERY glad to see me. I noticed her face was red and and irritated and assumed she had been "gnawing" on her crate door trying to get out.
I traded out her smaller kennel for a huge one we have. I figured if she had to be in it for any amount of time, it would be better if it was larger.
Today, my son has to run an errand, so he puts Chloe in the new big kennel. He was gone about 1.5 hours. He called to tell me she was sitting by the door when he opened it. she had COLLAPSED the kennel and let herself out (thank goodness she didn't hurt herself)! She has been known to open the kennel door from the outside and let her sister, Mitzi, out (that's my mom's dog).
I told him when he left for work this afternoon, to just leave her loose with all the bedroom/bathroom doors shut. Hopefully she will be snoozing peacefully on the couch when I get home (she'll be by herself about 2 hours)
Ugh!

Escape artist

You have a little escape artist. We also had a Chloe (lab) that was an escape artist, lol. I gave up and just left her out. She seemed to spend most of her time sleeping while home alone.

Gus is the hudinni here...

I have seen him open the kennel door here..
he moves the lock with his paws..
he also was smart enough to let out the pet rabbit one time..
the rabbit was on the counter in the kitchen..
I came home to find no rabbit..Gus got to the rabbit by jumping over the back of the couch to the counter I guess..
well the rabbit was fine..sleeping in the sun in my room..
the cage was toppled over ..and the door open..
Gus just does not think anything should be caged..ever..lol
including himself..
Gus runs free all the time..
I leave and come back and he just snoozes I am sure..

My old Momma dog could turn round door knobs

and open ANY door that she could turn the knob and push in.

UPDATE****

It's all good! Yeah Chloe! I got home about 4:15 and she was waiting at the door for me... from the looks of things, she spent her "free two hours" sleeping on the couch ;0) What a good little houdini girl she is!

They are nuts bulldogs are!!!

It scares me everytime when I first see it, but I have no idea how Cain gets up on my dining room table when the chairs are atleast a foot away from the table!

They are very much escape artists!

An escape artist!

Amazing what a Bullie can figure out.
My grandsons have a mixed breed hound dog & she opens doors---well they have lever style handles & lets herself in & out of any room. Recently she's been opening the outside door to go outside & also lets in a ton of frigid air! happy.gif

LOL. I love it... Bulldini!
I don't know why Chloe can't be "dumb" (no offense) like my golden retriever :0)
