Can your bull dog do tricks on command?? Need ideas!!

I have trained my bulldog to sit, lie down, sit up and speak; but with treat incentive.

Also, Spencer knows how to high 5.

Anyone else would like to share their accomplishments. I could use some more ideas.

Thank you

A common obedience command...

When the dog comes it sits directly in front of you. The finish command requires the dog to either swing or walk behind you to sit directly at your side. Really easy to teach actually and looks impressive.

What's the trick FINISH??? nm

One other trick

Homer has all of the basics down: sit, lay, stay (with treat laying on paw), come, and up. But the funniest (and most difficult for his rounded body) is roll over. Poor guy gets stuck like a turtle sometimes, but he has gotten very good.

Finish

Cindy,

Finish is a good one. Most people don't ever think of it. Tonka and his self taught deafness is one I will have to use.

Thanks for that, Vicky! I just now taught Grover "Find it".

Holding the treat in one hand and making him paw at which on has the treat.

Took five minutes and he totally has it. YAY! I love tricks!

Somehow I think "play dead" might take a bit longer...

So now you have to share...

How did you teach them to do that?????

I love those!!!

I hope you don't mind if I steal some of your stuff. I would love to teach my dogs these tricks. You have a very creative mind. The dogs must look so cute when they do these tricks.

Tricks..

Rugby crawls
Diesel plays dead when you shoot him with your finger
Tonka fetches the paper (except in the rain), and he used to dance but he has a bad back so we don't do that trick anymore.
All dogs sit, down, stay, heel, and finish(sit at my side)
I think Tonka's greatest trick is play DEAF!!! That is self taught. He thinks he is so brilliant!

Briggs knows"Take a Bow", "Go Around", "Sneeze". "What do YOU think?" "Lap up" Back, high five, moon walk, Spin three times, Target (Touches nose to hand wherever we have it. Very convenient for getting off my stomach, getting up into car, etc) Up-Up (Stand on hind legs) He's learning to turn off the lights...only two successes so far, but we just started 2 days ago. I think that is all.

BOSCO CRAWLS

I TELL HIM DOWN THEN CRAWL, HE SHAKES, HIGH FIVE,(BOTH HANDS) SIT, STAY, DOWN

BELLA DOES THE ABOVE TOO AND FIND IT. I PUT A TREAT IN MY HAND AND LET HER SNIFF EACH HAND AND THEN SHE HITS MY HAD WITH HER PAW.

MY BROTHERS DOG YOU COULD SHOOT HIM, BANG AND HE WOULD FALL OVER AND STICK HIS TONGUE OUT. I CANT GET MY DOGS TO FALL OVER.

Sit, Speak, Down and Shake.. Of course for a treat...

I've seen them say bang and lay on their side and play dead.

Yep sit ---sleep---sleep---eat--eat:)

Both bulls can sit give paw:)

Skills

I like "who do you love" teach the dog to tap your foot.

"Play dead." Not recommended for dogs visiting nursing homes.

"Say your prayers" Kneel down. Dog puts front paws on your leg and bows head. My dogs prayer is
"Now I lay me down to sleep.
With doggie biscuits at my feet
If I die before I wake
I pray thy Lord will give me steak"

"Wave Hi". Same as high five but no contact. I use it when people approach. You can also use it as "wave bye" depending on situation or how much you like the person.

"Play bow" great at the end of a performance. However, I have it taught as "show Momma your butt"

I love tricks, great way to entertain children.

Have fun

Dante is right with Milo!

He will only sit for a treat and learned with salami!! I tried to bribe him to give me his paw with salami too but he refuses. Oh well. Sit it is I guess!!

That is funny. Bullies associate very well.

Sit, then lay down, then up, then speak

Do it all the time with a treat.

Its funny he associates this whole process (sit, lay down, then up, then speak) even when I dont want to go through the tricks. It is the power of the treat.

I don't know if this is a trick, but...

my friends definitely get a kick out of it!
Lola posses for the camera.
When she was younger and learned how to sit, I taught her to sit (with treat) while I take a picture. Now whenever anyone puts a camera to their face she stops what she's doing and posses for the camera. it's pretty funny.

HIGH 5

My favorite trick is the High 5. This is the only one he'll do on command. He'll also do it spontaneoulsy sometimes, when he gets a treat. It's so cute Sheldon also knows sit and down but will only do them if he feels like it. How did you teach Spence sit up and speak?

MORE IDEAS!

WOW I had no idea bulldogs were capable doing that much lol!
The only thing Milo and Gert can do is sit down when I have a big hunk of salami in my hands!!!
