A "Cameraless Moment"

Times you wish you had a camera.....The other day I was at the kitchen sink looking out the window at the patio and backyard. Fluff and Chance were out. To the right we have a fenced in garden. And against the wall we have three giant palm trees, full of birds, bird nests, etc.

The dogs have dug a little hole in the corner of the fence/palm trees that they like to lay in. Fluff was in the "hole", with just her head and paws showing. Chancey was sitting about 4 feet away, sunning herself. Suddenly a bird plops to the ground within inches of Chancey. Chancey just sat there, and looked at the bird. Then the bird hops over to Fluff, she raised her head, and they "sniffed" each other. I'm holding my breath this entire time, thinking either one of them was going to take off after the bird. Well, the bird hops back towards Chancey, then hops towards the patio. Chance get up, follows the bird, nosed it, it fluttered a little, and hopped on down the patio. Chance turned around and sat back in her sun spot.

By then, I was laughing so hard, and only wishing I had a camera at that time. I just couldn't believe what I had just seen.

A Kodiak Moment...

...that's one of those things you'll never forget!! Great story!!

Doesn't that just figure.

I carry a camera in my pocket book now because I have missed sooooo many great pictures in the past.

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean!

The guys were still out on the lake when Pride and I arrived at camp on Saturday. I had brought a book (just in case) and Pride and I got comfy in the lawn chairs while we waited for the guys to return.

I was sitting there, reading and minding my own business, and three little birds swooped down next to me .. about 18 inches from my face. They weren't hummingbirds, but hovered like a hummingbird. If I'd had a camera ready ... oh man, what a great pic that could've been! (Although, it wouldn't have been a contest entry like yours could have been!)

Some of the best moments---

Are made for your eyes only. It seems that sometimes that you were suppose to see that moment and not the world. Like maybe it was suppose to be a message to you.

..talk about what couldve been THE winning summer Contest pic!!!
