Buying on Ebay
Submitted by Anonymous on April 20, 2010 - 5:25pmNow don't laugh, but I have never bot anything on Ebay. Didn't even know what PayPal was until the Cody fund raiser. So I have a basic, dumb question. Do most Ebay sellers charge sales tax? I just checked and found I can save quite a bit on the photo paper I use with my Canon i850 versus what Best Buy charges. Also, if I buy through Pay Pal, does the seller see my credit card number?? Thanx.

I am on E Bay restriction
I could spend a small fortune there, I love it. We also have sold a few items there. Try to restrain yourself cuz its very habit forming.

I've saved quite a bit on camera batteries, CF cards, Canon ink cartridges and photo paper using e-Bay.
Just be wary of the sellers ... check their feedback and make sure the actual description of the item matches the description in the heading. (I made that mistake .. once). Some will use lesser grade generic products, and have LOTS of it to sell.
I just bought a new nebulizer for Pride over e-Bay yesterday .. $63 total with shipping. The medical supply businesses here charge $225 and I'd STILL have to wait for them to get one in.

never used Ebay???
Not all sellers charge sales tax. They don't get any of your credit card info, just your address.I've never had a problem with it.(I've used it ALOT!)LOL.Good Luck!

..Oh do you have a lot to learn..!! Ebay is a blast.. I have mostly sold on ebay.. ..my ebay user name is 'bigdawg'... You will love cruising on ebay.. They have everything.. I'm gonna list some things this week for sale.. watch for what bigdawg is selling, O.K...??
The only way you have to pay sales tax is if you live in the state from which you are buying and if the seller has a business that they are selling from.
