Let me start with the good news. Buster is doing great. The first night he was all out of it because he was so tired. Thank you again for all the prayers. Everything is looking good on his rump. So now for the not so good news. When I went to drop off Buster I gave very good instructions on what was needed to be done. The nails were to be cut the spots were to be removed and his ears were to be looked at while he was under so they could get a good look. He has had ear problems before we even got him. So when I went to pick him up the next day I asked the front desk what meds would be sent home. I was told none at that point I said are you sure he kind of had a big surgery. She went in the back to check and came back and said the vet teck said he did not need it. At that point I said ask the doc and added also ask about what the problem with his ears were. Well I had already talked to the doc and knew she wanted him home with meds we had talked about it the day before. So when she came back 1 min later and said if you want the vet will give you meds and she said his ears were fine I knew she was lying. I told her yes I was taking the meds and they were lying about the ears. At this point the vet teck was out and said I am the one who looked in his ears and they were fine. I at this point was seeing red and burst out with "I was a vet teck and I will be up here with my app in a few hours because you suck at your job if you think his ears are fine. She just turned around and left. So I am standing at the desk with 2 kids and Buster waiting for the meds when this vet teck came out and said to me "I'm sorry but we must have missed the note on the papers but his ears were never looked at." So now I have to go back to get him looked at with his ears because I couldn't get it done right then. I am really thinking about looking in to another vet if they dont get rid of that liar.

it is all there falt.
I am not mad that they forgot to do it or that I have to go back. I am mad because they lied. If they had just started off with sorry we missed it and then given the meds like I wanted there would be no problem. I am sure my vet never got asked anything untill the very end. I am calling in the morning. Thanks for all the input. I really don't want to leave this vet I like them all. I still think I need to just go back to school and become a vet. It might be cheaper at the rate I am going. lol

I agree, tell your vet
it's not so much that they forgot to check his ears, things happen. But it's the fact that they lied about it that's most disturbing.

when she first came home
the gap is too wide IMO
if the ceiling is 30 grand for a vet tech..... the quality is going to be lower.

A hygenist and a nurse make a pretty penny vs a vet tech. I just think the pay scale needs to change esp. considering what vets are charging which is usually ridiculous
and I agree no matter what the person should do the job well
www.midatlanticbulldogrescue.com
But you have to consider how much schooling is needed for both
you can be a tech in 2 years. Going to vet school is much like going to med school. And there aren't as many vet schools around, harder to get into, much more competitive. So of course there will be a big difference in pay. If not then why would anyone go to vet school if they could be a tech in two years and make as much money.
Just like doctors and nurses, dentists and hygienists.
Regardless of the pay, that person chose that job and should do it well. I would tell the vet and see how he/she responds. Then make a decision on whether or not to continue going to that vet office.
just talk to your vet...
explain that you ad wanted his ears looked at and no one did it at the time.....dont just blame the vet tech.....your vet was just as responsible to be sure what was needed to be done was done....thats why your paying the big bucks....not becasue of the tech but the vet... i am sure they will discount a mistake if they want your business...
you get more with honey than a stick....
most vets need to be informed..I WOULD tell the vet too
this is a big issue with your bulldog
tell that vet what happened
might help another dog in the future as well
furthermore, maybe if they paid techs better
the quality of vet techs would be much better. Anyone look at their salary vs a vet? It's bloody murder

agreed! talk to your vet if you like him/her
if it's their practice they control who works there.
You should not be charged for the additional visit, that's just not right.

ABSOLUTELY...tell the Vet about all of this!
You owe it to your dog, to the vet perhaps, and to other clients as well to point out the serious problem of communication at this office. If the vet is any good, he/she will straighten out the problem...if he/she ignores it, definitely find another doc.
Tell the vet how you feel
and look for someone else! That would have made me furious!

Furthermore,do not let them charge you
for the next visit! it is their mistake and makes it very inconvenient for YOU and for Buster...way easier to look in their ears properly when they are under the anesthetic!

However, it IS Friday...try to maintain your cool as it is easier on you in the long run. You are one great bullymomma!
