bananas worked for my previous dog ...
i heard somewhere that when dogs search and like the taste of poo that they are not getting enough of some vitamin ... i was told bananas have what they need... so i tried it on my old sheperd and he lost the urge to go for it as much... of course we had to train him at the same time, but he was crazy for poo at one point! the bananas seemed to curb it quite a bit. i gave it to him like treats , a little before we went out to pee or poo.
ok
Thanks just thought maybe needing a supplement?

Then you will have to go out with him to make
sure that he doesn't go searching. You can't continue to give him the opportunity to search other yards, the more he does it, the longer and harder it will become to break him of the behavior.

I just switched him over from eukanuba to Wellness core. I add a 1 tbs of plain yogurt and 1 and 1/2 tsp of lipiderm to his food in the A.M then i feed him just plain food in the pm. He likes to poop out back by himself and normally comes right back but lately after his evening meal hell look at me and dart searching the areas around our house for poops from other animals not his own. He gets regular vet visits and weights 58lbs. he gets regular walks on a leach..he just won't poop on it don't know if its from previous owners training or not?

Prozyme worked for me
It was reccomended by the good folks here on the site. I found it on the internet in a trial size, and My pup has stopped eating his own poo. He never had interest in other dogs poo so that is an open question, will it work to keep the dog from eating others poo? As it was explained to me it helps with the dogs digestion and the poo does not interest them anymore. Small 8 oz sent to my mail box was 13 dollars. I'd have to go back to see who my hero [that told me] is on this, but they remember.

A few questions first...
1-what food is he getting now, brand and amount, and is he fed once or twice daily?
2-why is he permitted to run around unleashed?
3-does he have any chew toys and is he interested in toys?
4-what does he weigh and is it possible for you to show us a photo of the dog (full body shot)so we can guestimate his weight?
5-you mentioned giving him supplements; can you tell us what exactly he's getting by way of vitamins, joint meds, etc.?
