Last night Buddy started holding one eye closed. When I looked at it the outside corner was very red. Took him to the vet this morning and he thinks he may have Distichrasis. Made an appointment with the Opthalmologist for Friday at 11 AM. They said they may do surgery the same day. He has a small ulcer on the eye but my vet says it's not bad. This may hold up the surgery but I hope not. Would like to get it over as soon as possible.
I assume he will have to wear the cone looking thing if he has the surgery. Are they able to eat wearing it? Buddy is real bad about rubbing his eyes on the carpet, furniture etc. so I know he'll have to keep it on.
I'm working very hard at staying nice and calm

Good Luck Buddy:)
Sending good thoughts
Sorry I'm not much help here but I wish you and Buddy good luck. Hope he heals quickly!
YES
Because, a bullies neck is so large they have to wear the big cones. Sheldon was constantly tripping over his. I trimmed about 2" off it and he did much better. You might want to consider this, if Buddy has a problem with it. Good luck.
I hope not...
But if he has to have the surgery and has to wear the cone, please take a picture. They look so... cute w/ them on. I know it will be a pain but it will help him get better. Happy thoughts coming your way...Let us know how Buddy is after your apptmts on Friday.
Sorry..........
to hear your Buddy may have to wear a cone. Hopefully surgery will not be required, bully hopes and prayers to ya'.
A little story regarding my older bulldog having to wear a cone after surgery. As you know because a bully's neck is so large, they are stuck with the really large cones. Dawg wore his and for the most part hated it but he did learn to play while wearing it. He would go out in the yard, find a pinecone, scoop it up in the edge of the cone and then flip it into his mouth. It was really funny watching him with his cone. Make sure you put things out of their way because most times they cannot see to the sides and they bang into everything.
Good luck!
Oh gosh..
I sure hope Buddy gets better real soon! Sheldon had to wear a cone when he got neutered. We took it off when he ate. He hated it at first but learned to accept it. He would even wait for me to put it back on after he ate. Good Luck.
