Gus had some kind of dissolving stitches of some kind
he needed emergency surgery..he had a strangulated hernia
so he got neutered at the same time
HE had a HUGE HUGE Incision.
did not stop him much at all though

Gus has been 52 pounds for along time now
the vet thinks he could loose a few pounds maybe
but he is right to me..
can feel his ribs..although can not see them..

Bella is small at 42 pounds..
she is a very small bulldog
but she gained 6 inches in her chest
and lost 6 pounds the last year or so
maybe more weight then that even..but she got very broad..
she used to be 47 or more before..

I will post some before and after for you in a sec. The bulldog specialist said that Bubba was a "standard" bulldog, which was a huge compliment! (that was before his neuter and he wieghed about 52 lbs) Funny how they change! Kinda like Bubba grew up over night! He's not nearly as hyper as he was before his neuter. The bulldog vet refused to use glue on his incisions saying that he was "too hyper" for it!!! Crazy huh?

thought I would ever have bulldogs...my hubby wanted one for a very long time...being in the Army for 28 yrs we moved and lived all around the world...so I had a mutt and cat then....after settling here in NC for good he talked me into the bulldog...I begged to have two more and then had to sign in blood NO More...lol three is a hand full...they are my full time job...our kids are adults and don't live at home (thank goodness)lol
so its always funny here with the gang each one has a different personality...we do have a fenced in back yard and of course their deck...lol your time will come for more one day... hope the food works out for him...give him a smooch from us...

I changed him to Nutro chicken oatmeal for sensitive stomachs. I really cannot tell right yet if it works cuz I just weaned him off the natural balance, I was giving him a little bit of both, an I am hoping this works!!! That gang of your is soooo precious, must be a lot of fun at your place! I really wish I had a larger home with a yard and money to afford another bully for BUbba and me too! If I ever came into money, I would deffinaltey have many mnay bulldogs and rescue as many as possible!!!!

Gus had no weight change..
but I guess some dogs it effects all together differently
you need to post some before and after pics of him to see the difference on here
that would be cool to see...how much he actually changed..
from the pics here..Bubba was really really slim for a bulldog.

Gus is about 52 pounds and within standards...I would consider Gus a slight bully but not a small bully..he still has a nice hour glass figure..lol but that might change as he is still filling out.

I love his colors just too handsome...he filled out nicely...did you switch his food or decide on what kind of food you where going to use??

I never really looked at those pice until now, it really shocks me to see how small he was!!! hope you all have a great weekend....Give the gang lots of kisses for me.

I had him neutered last may and seriuosly it seems lioke over night he gained 10 pounds! The vet told me he would not gain weight or change, boy was he wrong!!! He is still not a very big bully but people who knew him prior to surgery, all say he HUGE!!! Like I said he was small and then suddenly he gained weight so it was a shocker!!!!

Gus did the same thing..
he never filled out much and is just starting to now at 2 and half.
Bella never filled out until she was almost 3..and then she bloomed..lol
