Brother & Sister

My wife and I lost our first bully about 1 1/2 years ago after a wonderful 10 years. He was our life and we spoiled him rotten. We finally decided to get another and after discussing it decided on 2 so they could have each other as well as us. They are almost 12 weeks old, we have had them 2 weeks and are amazed on how well adjusted they are and how close they are to each other. One thing I am noticing is that when they play they can get a little wound up and bite each other a bit to hard. The male is starting to get bigger then the female but she holds her own. Like a lot of things bullies do they are so focused on it they don't pay much attention to us when they get that way. It isn't mean or agressive behavior just playing a bit rough. Is this normal? Will it get worse or will they out grow it? Remember they really love each other and even sleep together in the same crate with no problems.

With 2 - Buddy and Brother

That's the name of the game. They have reasons for all this rough play. It's fun though. We have pups that are 1/2 brothers, one is almost 5 months, Brother the other almost 10 months, Buddy. We worried cause the little pup was so dominate, and small to be so rough with an over 40 lbs Bulldog. but when Brother lost his canine baby teeth, Buddy caught up a little. Now the teeth are back.
The hard bitting seems too rough, but they're tough dogs and even though I referee I try to not get into it. Usually it's Brother, the little one that has to go to time out, usually to bed cause they act up when their tired. But I'm not an expert, I just watch mine.
I wouldn't trade them for their weight in Gold.

I have a brother and sister team too, they are now 14 months old

Yes, they are quite bonded to each other. They play with each other well, but always gets too rough, I let it go for awhile, but as ou say the male is getting bigger than the female and mne holds her own too, but thye are starting to urt each other, so now, before it gets to the "crazy" stage, I step in and separate. Believe me they have others to play with as I have 8!

Sounds pretty normal to me

Bully puppies do play rough - pretty much any puppies do. Sounds like they are just having fun while trying to decide who is going to be the alpha in the group (there always is one).

How about some pics of your two darlings?

when possible, I like to let the dogs 'work it out themselves'

especially as they are littermates, both with sharp puppy teeth! Usually they learn what and how much to do to one another, and I only suggest interceding when one dog tries to quit and the other one becomes 'the aggressor'. Be sure you spend some one-on-one time with each dog also, or they will tend to ignore you and mostly respond to each other. happy.gif
