feeling guilty. You are right, Pat...can't change the past, only the future and I am doing all I can to make his future the best it can be. Like Pam said, I am researcing like crazy to find the best options for him. Your posts meant a lot to me...as did Cody's.
I understand about feeling guilty!
I was so worried about Audrey getting sick as a puppy I kept her away from other dogs too long, and now she's having social problems. You live and learn, and try to do the best you can.

when she first came home
with knowing now..you can move ahead...that is the best advice..
ONCE I found out that Gus was deaf..I changed..
I would never have read books on deaf dogs, read deaf dog websites or anything like that..to be honest. but having a deaf dog really opened my eyes. knowledge is powerful and can teach us so much to help out our dogs.
also you will now be able to help another dog LIKE HOOCH. I was surprised since I offered to help out the deaf dogs locally...that I now am helping 3 of them. word gets around..lol. but if not for having Gus and learning about deaf dogs..would not be able to help another deaf dog the same way. the thing about HOOCH is you have been there and done that..and it will help many other dogs that need it too. people will ask you questions about their dogs and so on..
good that you found out about HOOCH and all the best to the two of you
