Bella just came from vet and tested positive for "lyme", they said it's

postive but not full blown lyme, she just needs some pills for I think 5 days ( my hubby took her), has anyone heard of this, like she has no symptons or anything, she seems totally fine. They just did u annual heartworn/lyme test and it showed a little something..

Hope everyone has a great day

My Hammer has/had it

He went for his yearly tests and it came back positive. They vey retested and positive again. He showed no signs.

He had to take meds for 30 days and we will retest in 6 months.

He did fine wth the meds. I just smear peanut butter on it. When he heardthe ned bottle he would tun to the kitchen and sit. If I wasn't quick enoug with the peanut butter/med he would let out a little bark....lol

Hope Bella's clears up quick.

light positive....

is what they proably saw not all dogs have symptons....and alot of times vets get a false postive ...i would go 5 days antibotic wait two weeks and retest...
most positive lyme will go 30 to 60 days on doxie....so i think their only going five days on antibotics becasue it was a light positive....

I don't have any experience with it but I'm

Tillie got it years ago and she was miserable...

She would yelp out in pain. That's when we brought her in to try and figure out what was wrong with her. They ran blood tests and she had Lyme disease.

I thought she had an injury, but if affected the muscles in her neck, she couldn't even turn her head without yelping.

She was on antibiotics for a long run, but I honestly do not remember how long at this point. It was before I found the board, and I've been here 5 years now..

Good luck with Bella!! If it is Lyme, glad you caught it fairly early!

Always in my heart...

Please read my post from the other day...

Have a more thorough test done... they will have to send it out and not do it in house. My guess is that it's just from the vaccine but they can't tell that with the test they ran.

My original vet tried to push abx on me (she was new to me) and I pushed. She ate crow when they ran the other test and saw it wasn't infection.
