Back from Vet :( Need advice .... What is yeist? In dogs.

Molly had been havin this wierd odor but only noticable when we would go into the kitchen to let her out of her cage, well it turns out there is yeist in her tail or under her tail. The vet noticed it as soon as she came into the room... What does this mean? She said theres not an infection yet, its just red, but she suggested putting ointment on it, but before she could tell me what kind I side tracked and she forgot, can you guys recommend what you would put on it to heal... she said its not severe just enough to have an odor, she goes for spaying next Friday and the vet said with the tube they keep it in her until she is up and moving ... so that made me feel good.. but I need advice with the yeist thing... Thanks guys

Ok, she said its just red under the tail, but it is yeist, what

I have diaper rash creme here, but its not desitin, should I put that on it? Its under the tail on the skin.... what area exactly should I put it on? Thanks for all the help guys... Oh and BTW

Molly weighed in at a whopping 35 lbs.. at 5 months old, she a chunker hehe, we seen a picture of her from when we first got her and I cannot believe the change, she reminds me alot of Gertie but with diff coloring .. hehe

Went to the vet last night and Gertie has it too.

The vet seems to think Gertie has it on her neck, it's been stinking for the past few days like a stinky shoe... Every time she drinks water her neck gets SOOOOO wet because she's so young and sloppy. So they gave us some good smelling spray to put on her for the next little while.

Myostatin

Sorry not sure about the spelling. Our vet sent us the drug store to get the same topical cream used for either vaginal yeast infections or athlete's foot. We keep it on hand all the time cuz our boy Ollie's a bread baker. He gets yeast infections in his ear, tail pocket and facial folds. The key to preventing further flare ups is to keep the areas clean and dry (baby wipes and gold bond, we then use desitin.)without irritating it.

Good luck.

Yeast infection..

Yeast infections -- sometimes called candidiasis -- takes many forms. Yeast fungus infections often develop where a moist environment encourages fungal growth, especially on the webs of fingers and toes, nails, genitals, and folds of skin.

it's just like a human yeist infection
