ouch....not the declawing....
I guess if you have no other choice....but it really is amputating the first digit of the "fingers"...and it can open up a whole nother can of worms with temperament issues...
Have you tried those glue on nail covers?
I trim Tiggers nails every week...if i forget it bothers him and he chews them off..LOL.

years ago I had a Merle great dane named Abby..I got her from some folks at a yard sale..I was so mad they would put her out like an old shoe to sell ...so I waited all day till the sale was over..just sat on their porch(I couldn't afford the 300.00 they wanted at the time)..and they were geting rid of her because they were moving to Hawaii..and said only the other two danes who were show quaility were worth taking...they tried to get me to buy her by saying they were going to put her down if she didn't sell...
so at the end of the day...I still sat there..and finally the guy says okay how much to save her life?

I said she was pricless ...but I had only 50.00 ..but that I would camp on their porch till they moved before i would allow them to destroy her...I think the guy thought I was a crazy...and said "just take her...it will save us the trip and cost of the vet"...
anyway ..Abby and I bonded like you are with Victor..completed soul mates..she was my protector,my pillow..my best friend ,my date picker...and I couldn't leave her alone without her heart breaking...she also had that love you forever heart....

I've only had him since October. I found him in the middle of the street after he got hit by a car. I'm convinced Atticus thinks he is a dog. He plays with the dogs all the time. When I say, let's go for a walk, he runs to the door with them, then comes on the walk with us. He licks and grooms the dogs, and lets Boo and Clovis lick his ears. When the dogs get the zoomies, he's right in there with them running in circles around the sofa. And he's even crazy for Popeye's Fried Chicken like they are.

But he's terrible with my other cats. Two of the three girls are so scared of him they rarely come out of their rooms. I may have to get him declawed, tho I hate to do that to a cat. But Atticus just keeps attacking them. You would think he would treat the ladies a little better, especially since he will soon be a horny teenager.

he really is someone very special. Sure it is annoying that he is so depressed and everything about Harley, but his loyalty and devotion is like something i have never seen in another living being. It is not always a good thing, for sure, as we will never be able to board him or god forbid we ever had to give him away...it wouldn't work.
It is hard to explain how he is. He is one of those dogs you read about that lay on their owners grave and just die/starve themselfes.
I do love him dearly, even with his issues.

I keep the snakes away from other animals, but sometimes when i hold them, Vic or Tigger will walk by, neither the snakes or them act afraid, but i just won't risk injury to either, I think the snakes would risk more injury from Harley then the other way around..hehe.
Tigger LOVES dogs, just loves them. He thinks hes a dog. He doesn't act like a cat in the least. Harley and Vic both love him, too...when he had enough of their play, he gets on his cat-tree.
I'm really blessed with that cat, everybody loves him, and he loves everybody, he greets strangers at the door, he makes cat haters want to take him home...lol.

The baby picture of Victor melts me..and makes me just want to scoop him up and let him know ,even I a stranger, can tell how special he is...and that no one could replace a heartbeat like him...morning smiles to you...ce
