we tried other pain and anti-inflammatory and she was getting sick from it so we stopped and she was not taking anything until just recently. Chester took Tramadol for his neck, and I asked vet about it. She said this is the safest to use for pain, even on oldies. So I give her one pill a day, even though I could go as high as 3. She is a new woman, has a spring in her little step. Love it.

Flex-a-min, tablets in a bottle at the drug store/grocery stores. It has Glucosamine/Condroitin/MSM/HA and is free of: yeast, wheat, sugar, preservatives, artificial colors. I cut them in half for her, much more affordable than any vet supp. My vet was impressed enough that he recommends it to his clients now.

I get mine at Trader's Joe, i found JOint Support with glucosamine, MSM & chondroitin, once daily controlled release. It is large dose so you can cut according to his weight. I heard you cannot really overdose on those from my vet, so I give them whole, once a day. Lily has really bad arthritis so she gets this and I give her adequan shots every 2-3 weeks, but recently added Tramadol for pain and she moves so much better. She cannot take any Rimmadil or such as her belly does not tolerate it.

trying to find a glucosamine supplement! I did find some at the grocery store, Sundown Naturals is the brand. It does have vegetable cellulose, silica, vegetable stearic acid,, crospovidone, vegetable magnesium stearate. I looked up those ingerdients, and they are all vegetable based and used to bind,preserve...So far Audery has not had any itchy face issues, but it's only been a month that she's been on them. If she starts to get itchy again it will be eliminated.
No, actually, this is the only thing that works for her...

love that you are doing all this research for us!
Roxy and Belle are both on Tramadol. Makes Roxy sleepy. She is on it for pain until she gets a tooth extracted Tuesday.

I don't rescue animals because I want to feel better about myself, or morally superior to anyone. The best part of my life with animals is the humility they teach and the humanity the foster.
It helps Belle walk. (She has hind end mobility problems due to a spinal problem) Both also take Rimadyl.
I'm really interested in hearing more about the Cetyl Myristoleate. I'm ready to just go buy it and try it.

I buy from puritanspride.com.
Their supplement is free of soy, yeast, wheat, dyes, etc.
I may just try it myself this week if I don't back from vet and
then put Hooch on it...I have an auutoimmune arthritis.
