by Dr. Iam Dunbar called Dog Aggression: Biting. I'm only half way through but it's very enightening. He mentioned a statistic that shocked me and i had to look up the newer stats because it's an older dvd. He was comparing how many children are killed each year BY THEIR OWN parents compared to those killed by dogs.

According to the American Anthropological Association, more than 200 women kill their children in the United States each year. Three to five children a day are killed by their parents.
In 2008 a total of 28 people were killed by dogs. When you think of the horrible things some humans do to them, i think this shows how resilient and forgiving they can be.
Dr. Dunbar puts it very simply...dogs bite because THEY ARE DOGS. That's what dogs do...unless taught otherwise, desensitized to triggers, etc. Dogs don't write letters to their lawyer when they are upset, they bite.
