Another thought ..(well actually several)

Ce, I am so grateful that you arrived home safely last night. I know you must be feeling like I am this morning...sort of like you got the wind knocked out of you. I don't feel one bit better this morning than I did yesterday...and it must be so much worse for you. You did everything you could and then some...only time will tell now if our prayers for Cody will be answered.

For those who are having a problem with giving such an evil breeder money for a "dying dog"...Have you stopped to think that the money paid for Cody may well be this man's undoing? Do you think that he was going to invite us in there to take all those close-up pictures for evidence?? Do you think that if the authorities showed up to check him out that he was going to show them the worst abuse cases he has?? Yes, we gave the man $1000...but Cody is going to take him down, although he may pay for it with his life...

And to the person or persons who were upset by my somewhat glib post the night before we went to pick up Cody...in regards to us getting to be the first to post pictures. At that point in time, I had NO idea what we would be seeing when we got Cody. I truly thought he would need food...tlc...and housebreaking. That was it. So...I teased about getting to be the first to share "our" new baby with the board. HAD I KNOWN the condition that poor soul was in...I WOULD NEVER have joked. I am almost amazed that I am being criticized for that post...considering the heartbreak we are all dealing with now.

I resisted participating in the Cody situation for the very reasons Anna cites. And, until Deb's report and photos yesterday, I didn't even consider him a "rescue".

I've changed my mind.

Though Anna is correct that we don't want to financially reward despicable breeders (and I said the same thing), Cody's situation has brought the problem to the forefront with tremendous numbers of people and the troops are answering the battle call.

This could very well turn out to make a remarkable difference for many dogs.

I would have said the same thing

The night before we left and I think appreciated the little bit of humor it was needed to break the tension of the night.
You know a lot of people use humor to break the tension like the military and the wifes of a military wife when faced with separation. So don't think a second thought about what was said and when
The three families took on a lot and our hats are off to you guys for the effort.
I am thinking positive for Cody that he will come out of this in the most beautiful shape and condition .

NEGATIVE BRINGS NEGATIVE.

bah..

don't even worry about what certain people come up with. You know as well as me that they only post to stir @$%@!
So don't sweat it, you and everybody else knows that you only had the best intentions.
About the rest, this is just my point. It irks me that we paid the man to keep doing what he is doing. If the money brings him down, what a great thing that would be.
I can only hope that it will happen...that the least that will happen is that the dogs will be seized from that hellhole.
That he won't be allowed to own anymore. Knowing which state he is from....i a feeling it will be more then difficult.
All i need to know is that we will fight even harder to make this happen, then we did to get Cody out. We owe it to the other dogs, for paying their tormentor and enabling his business.
