Another Georgia update
Submitted by admin on April 20, 2010 - 5:25pmRight now Georgia is having good days and so-so days. She is still in oxygen and is eating in-frequently. I attribute that to the high doses of iv-antibiotics. She developed some bloody diarreah, so they are concerned about her rectum with the incontinence/spina bifita issue. They think she may have a perianal hernia from coughing......
She will probably continue to be in the ICU for another week while they ween her off oxygen. IMO - I would rather her stay there as long as it takes. I am SO nervous about maintaining her health with having to start her shots over that I don't want her home until she is much better.
My nerves are shot with this! By the time she is out of U of Penn and done with this, I could have bought a new car - lol! (okay so its not really funny, but what else can I do?!)

for her to come home. PARANOID. She will be living attached to me like an indian pappoose for the remainder of the time she is on antibiotics.

Can I just say that you have the biggest heart in the world?!? You do far more for your dogs than most people could even thinking about doing, and I think it is wonderful. You truly are an inspiration! I hope Georgia gets well soon and gets out of the hospital and gets to come home soon.
