Anal Question- Cross Posting this.

My bully Riley has been doing something very wierd the past few days. She has been rubbing her butt on rugs and the grass while in the sitting postion.

My wife and I think she either is trying to pass something she should not have been eating (like a tennis ball cover) or she is just very constipated. I am just hoping it is not anything serious.

Have any over you had this proplem before?

Have the Vet check the anal glands!

I have my littlest Bully done almost once a month. The Vet tells me that dogs with extremely tight twisted tails have have to have it done regularly. She starts to spin and she is off to the Vet. She only does it when she is uncomfortable.

Anal gland impaction.

It sounds like blocked anal glands (although Bulldogs can't reach to chew or scratch their rear end so it may be a simple case of a flea in the "ear" hole!
The anal glands are very easy to empty and once you learn it it could not only save you a fortune in vet bills but also save your pet from the added stress of "a trip to the doctors".
I'm sure your vet would be happy to teach you how to empty the anal glands. (It's a smelly job)
Once you get the tecnique it's like squeezing a tube of toothpaste. (although I wouldn't advise brushing your teeth with it if you want to keep your friends. lol!)

Lily does this we call it the spinaroni

It is so funny, there is a hole in our grass where she just sits and spins in circle. I check her tail and it is fine.

I believe

it could be that his anal glands need to be expressed. The vet can do that.

Cookie does that

when her butt gets dirty but she loves to have her butt cleaned so she might just be making me think it needs to be clean....

habit

My bulldog Millie does this whenever she is excited also. She does it other times as well, I have come to accept it as a habit. I also check her underside of her tail frequently to make sure it is clean and dry because it is irritated easily and may contribute to this.

I think that

the dogs anal glands may be full and need to be emptied by the vet. I would take her in and check.

Scooter

My Jez is the biggest scooter there is. She has a very clean tail but just loves to scoot. When I come home from work she is all excited and runs and greets me, gets her belly rub and then immediately runs to the rug and does her scooter dance. It just feels good.
