OMG How scary!

I am so glad she's OK! I have a special place in my heart for "Audreys"

And thats' wonderful advice, always listen when the Holy Spirit tells you to pray about something.

My niece wasn't so lucky when she fell backwards off a slow movi

she was in a small town on vacation and they only took x-rays...not a cat scan. The next day she was in emergency surgery to relieve swelling from a fractured skull. Very scary stuff. She came through okay...thank GOD they live in Phoenix and were just up about an hour out of town to where they could get her back to a good hospital.

Yikes

I had a friend who's son fell off a chair onto the tile floor. Very similar story to your granddaughter. He ended up having a concussion but was fine in the end.

Glad to hear Audrey is OK.

wow that is scary...too

I knew that something happened to me. ONE minute I was standing..and when I came too..I was on the ground. the blood was pouring out from where I hit my head..I knew I had to get to emergency asap at the hospital. bandaged my head and took off..got a cab and away I went.
wtih injuries to the head..they get you in quicker into the ER.
they did a series of tests on me too..cat scan included..but I was fine..but I did need to be woke up every hour on the hour for the first 24 hours.
I hit my head on a dead bolt...on the door
i will not forget that day..along time ago..but the memory will always be there..

I knocked myself out once too.....

I was getting in my little car and hit the side of my head behind my ear on the corner of the window. I sat down hard in the drivers seat and didn't think much of it, but realized some time must have lapsed though I can't remember why I thought that. I started driving home (had my daughter in the car with me...she was about 2 then). I felt so woozy and dizzy though...I got about halfway home and realized I had been slipping in and out of consciousness for a second or two at a time....I pulled into a fire station and had to ask them for help:-)

glad to hear she is ok this am.

they will likely have to wake her up hourly for the next 24 hours or so..

glad she is ok
Like I said on the orginal thread I knocked myself out...years ago on a door knob. I was living on my own at the time..and had to move back in the next couple of nights..so my MOM could wake me up all the time.

Well, so far she seems to be doing okay.

Thank you for asking Cathy.

Last night at around 10, my daughter was in her room with Audrey, now 19.5 months old. Audrey was on the bed with Kate and was sitting too near the edge...Katie asked her to come away from the edge(Audrey is deaf and we have to try getting her attention and then signing to hear our request), but Audrey lost her balance and fell backwards off the bed onto the carpet. She seemed okay for a second, screamed her head off, then she had a seizure and lost consciousness for about 15 seconds. My daughter screamed for me and we went right to the ER.

They checked her out well and did a cat scan but found nothing amiss and she was cleared to return home. That was about 1 am. They were extremely efficient in my little town ER....they were super busy last night too. They had lots of little kids in last night as well as lots of adults, but they had Audrey in and out in under 3 hours. Amazing.

We brought her home and my daughter has been waking Auddie up every hour to check on her...we will keep an eye open for any head injury related issues.

Thanks for the prayers....what a scary thing. I will not get the image out of my mind of seeing my baby girl unresponsive and her eyes unfocused. SO scary. God watched out for her though. I had been praying right before that and felt so strongly to pray for Audrey and so I prayed for God to protect her and keep her safe...though I didn't know why it was so urgent right then. It was not 5 minutes after I had gotten done with my prayers that this accident happened. Imagine if I hadn't just been crying and asking God to keep Audrey safe....the outcome could have been vastly different. Always listen to the Holy Spirit when He tells you to pray about something!
