Amazing....dog stories...on BDW...past and present.....add your dog/bulldog

Every once in awhile a dog stands out as truly amazing.
what they accomplished maybe, how fast they acheive their championship, agility and so on...we have LOTS Of great bulldogs on the board..maybe ones we do know and some we don't.
would be neat to share some of those stories...
a dog in your past that was amazing too....

here is my story..

Years ago I had a boston terrier, her name was Tetley. she lived to be 19 and half..that alone was amazing..really great life span for a boston.
what was utterly amazing is that she had a spinal injury and could not walk for weeks..she got up walking again with therapy.
ONE NIGHT I hear this screetch coming from Tetley. something that was very LOUD. I went to check on her..and she was on the top of my sons bunkbed. turned on the light, MY SON WAS blue in the face..HE was choking on a candy that he took to bed and he knew better. I Got the candy dislodged out of my son..but if not for that boston...he maybe would not be here today. she saved his life... what is amazing is how did she manage to get up that steep ladder with an injury to her hind quarters.
she really had quite the bond with Gord.

any cool stories you want to share?

that is amazing Pat!

how scary and what an amazing dog!
We had a german shepherd, Kaiser, years ago, and he was VERY protective of our family. He wasn't mean in any way, but he was HUGE. Once when my oldest daughter was about 5 years old, a bunch of kids were playing in our backyard, and I heard my daughter start screaming. A bigger kid had tackled her and was sitting on her tickling her. Next thing I saw was that kid DANGLING in the air like superman, hanging by his overall straps in my sheperd's mouth! Kaiser didn't hurt him, and he really could have, and didn't even move with that kid in his mouth, he just waited until my daughter got up then he let the kid down. Needelss to say, that boy never bothered my daughter again.

she was pretty remarkable...

when you seen her..she was all of 14 pounds ringing wet. she came from a show breeder and was 9 months old when I got her.
she came when the kids were all babies...0, 1, 2...
she did a great job with those kids..
and she meant it...when they all the flu ..she would sleep with them..

the one time we were on vacation and the boys were older..so she was up there too.My ex was pulling my son behind on a dingy behind a boat and he was yelling and playing around ..and that BOSTON I had to hold her back.she would have jumped out in the 30 feet water to save that kid..

she was always...like that..

very much a family dog...
a super good pet..and very spoiled..

I still get tears thinking of her.
a soft spot for bostons still...

much bully love~Christine, Dupree, Marley and Savannah

wow your shephard was great too..Cathy..

I miss my boston
some dogs are very protective over their families..
see that in your shephard there..
cute story.
i would not go near a child if the shephard picked me either...

this boston also went into the water here at the beach and swam
out to get the 3 boys out the beach with me one time..
the water got a tiny bit rough and in she went..
out they came by their bathing suits...lol
I can still here them saying
MOM Call Tetley....NOW..hahhahhaha
the water was not that rough or I would have pulled them out..

thanks...yea a very special dog...

I remember her most at Christmas time..
she loved to lay under the tree for hours on end..
she would have saved anyone in the house if she needed too
she was no good in the public world...truly a one family dog..
but she did her breed proud..
hope my bullies live a long life that she did

thanks Cheryl...considering......

she was not fed any great dog food...she lived soo long. she was the worst eater on the planet..fussy was not the word. she was always the same weight.
she never had arthitis at all either..even when she died..
she had a spinal cord infarct that disabled her for walking for weeks..and with the therapy I had to learn to do dog massage and warm bath and teach her to swim for her muscles..
she was very impressive for a boston
the best mouser on the planet too...
and was world known from the boston message board..
she got gifts from all over the world when she turned 16
and Happy meals at McDonalds when she turned 18 from all over the world..she truly loved McDonalds..
yea I miss her still
