For all you Vegas residents

Now that my Vegas trip is on a budget I have been searching the web for reasonable rooms. Fitzgerald's is priced pretty reasonable and looks nice. How close is it to the St. Tropez. Also how close to the strip. My 21 year old daughter is coming with me. She is more interested in the strip than bulldogs so I am trying to find someplace that is a happy medium between the dog show and the strip. Any hotel suggestions would be appreciated.

Same for me

If I go to bed, and don't put the TV on, I have trouble falling asleep. Every little creak and noise bugs me. Same when I studied for the cpa exam and the bar exam. Kept the TV almost all nite.

Re: Re: HaHa...

HaHa...

So it isn't just my husband who is full of good intentions, but sometimes falls short in the delivery. My husband is SO handy at somethings, but when he says, "I'm gonna give your car a tune up", and a week later when you complain that the car is running funny he says, "Well, I only changed out 3 spark plugs because I couldn't reach the other ones"...d'oh! I could wring his neck! Oh well, I know he loves me and means well.

Tuna casserole must be a man thing.

Warm Tuna just shouldn't happen ever...YUCK!!!..

That has to be more gross than mushy spaghetti. Your right about the grooming table. He is on a roll with the power tools. He is actually rebuilding the entire kitchen. He has come a long way, let me tell you.
In out first home he finished the basement. He was trying to stucco the ceiling with the spray plaster stuff with a rented machine. Problem was he made the mixture too wet. Needless to say more stucco was on the floor than on the ceiling. Guess what he used to clean it up?
MY CENTRAL VAC!!!
It was plugged for months and I had to get some guy to come in and cut through pipes to unclog it once all the wet plaster dried.LOL
He is a special guy all right. I have a zillion stories like that about him but I won't share any more because we might be meeting some of you in Vegas so why spoil the fun!
I do love him to death. He is one of the funniest guys I have ever met. Come to Vegas and you will see!

Hey,

didn't you just post pictures of a beautiful grooming table and handmade name plate?...lol... I could ask my husband to do that, and he would, about 6 months after I asked. Don't feel bad about the spaghetti, my husband always wants to make tuna casserole....yuck! Something about warm canned tuna that just seems wrong to me.

You cook too!!!!

Heidi is one lucky lady! My hubby's idea of spagetti is opening a can of sauce and pouring it over mush pasta.YUCK!!
Oh well, not complaining really. He has his positives. Just give me a minute hmmmm I'm thinking....OH ya! I remember now. He puts up with me!LOL

Re: Hotels

Well, I smoke also, but respect those who dont smoke and wont do it around them as for drinking, dont do it at all, stomach ulcer would kill me if i did. but again have no problem with those who do, heidi will drink some wine, but you should see me trying to find a bottle of wine she asked for in the store, talk about not understanding why there is 140 selections and me trying to find the 1 she wants...lol...i look like a fool looking for it!. i do leave the tv on at night but use the timer to shut it off about an hour after i lay down, but dont bother me leave it on all night! BUT I HATE SEAFOOD AND FISH!!!!!! ...lol... strangly enough its some of heidis favorite foods, lobster, shrimp, salmon, scallops etc! So i do cook it for her a lot!

Re: Hotels

lol...actually the westward ho is like a 777 room hotel next to circus circus and not hourly....lol..a lot of people stay there, even yours truly has. Its clean, safe and comfy, just no volcanos exploding or fancy thrills and themes, a basic hotel, despite what it sounds like it aint bad at all and the webbie would not steer you in teh wrong direction, i think they have 3 pools to and some great food deals! now they do have them hourly hotels...lol..but there way down teh street and not something i would suggest..lol..its not bad, really!! at least if you dont go there when your hear stop in and look it over and you will see its a motel 6 like place! not bad at all!

I love you guys... my husband thinks I'm nuts.

I have to fall asleep with the TV on.

First, we all share the same love of bullies... now I find out you're my kindred TV spirits...

TV

I think everyone keeps the tv on at night now. I don't know why but my whole family does that and when we have a get together here at night we have 3-4 on all diff stations. Go figure.

Denise, sounds like you are a perfect roommate.

I do all that you listed, but don't drink too much. But I HAVE to have the TV on at night.

Hotels

I'll check out all the ones you posted. There is just something about the name Westward Ho that makes me think I could get hourly rates! As far as rooming with someone, that would be great. Just a few problems, I smoke, drink, snore, leave the TV on all night and rise at 5 a.m. I'm tend to lose friends when I room with them!

Re: Glad to hear you will be joining us!!

Denise,

Fitz is downtown and a LONG ways off, at least 20 minute drive. If you want a good priced hotel on teh strip, not to far from the st tropez, then i suggest westward ho, its an older property. like a motel, but not to bad and next door to circus circus, also the riveria, imperial palace, stardust or barbary coast is real close and usually not to expensive and are bigger strip hotels which often offer great prices and many times below 50.00 a night!

Glad to hear you will be joining us!!

Wish I could help out with the accomodations thing. Webbie or Patti should be able to help you out. Too bad you don't have more people to bunk with at the Tropez. When you start splitting the cost of accomodations it makes the trip very reasonable. We almost had friends joining us but they couldn't because of work obligations. Doesn't matter for us really just means less to gamble with.
I look forward to meeting you and your daughter. Is she a bully nut like her mom or is she going to think we are all nuts!LOL I am sure you will warn her ahead of time we are all a little crazy.
See ya in Vegas!

not from Vegas but...

There is a Best Western (Mardi Gras), that I think is about equal distance between the Strip, and the St. Tropez. I looked into it, because I toyed with the idea of going in Oct. because my mom really needs a vacation, and I would love to see the bullies. It is priced really reasonably (I think about $55 per night...don't quote me on that) you can't go too wrong with a Best Western (how much time will you actually spend in the room anyway, right? ). I think this would be closer to where you want to be. I hope this helps you. Good Luck.
